Drmd V5 Beta 4 - Squidge-injected Version

Thank you very much Reesy & Squidge for this incredible present :)

*can't stand all the great releases thanks to squidge's hack*

Snes + 10fps, Megadrive + 10-20 fps, Neo Geo + 10-20 fps, Mame + ?fps and maybe it will speed up the psx emu too ( which will be released soon with some great improvements already )

I need a credit card dammit!
I feel the same. Really want to donate, but closely below the age of beeing able to pay via paypal with the own credit card.

I just got done with a 16 hour guard shift, so I'm out of the loop about this MMU hack thing, but I've just tried the SNES MMU hack and lovin' it.

Can't wait to try the megadrive hack too!

Thank you Squidge, Reesy, Pespone!!!1!One!!

Squidge's MMU hack is the greatest thing to happen to the GP2X scene so far! Fullspeed (or at least very close) Super Mario World, and now full speed Sonic 3D Blast, at FS0! Wow!

The few games I've tried run at 60fps at 180Mhz. Sonic 3 ranges between 40 and 60fps, usually at 50 to 55 though. Pretty huge performance increase!

Wowsers! So much faster! It seems there's some graphic issues at the left and right edge of the screen as a result of the hack, but I'm sure that's just a temporary thing and the speed boost is just gob-smacking. Well done to all involved!

Thats amazing. If I had any money - I am a University Student and have finally returned home and have no job as of yet. I would be donating. One hack seems to have given huge performance increases in many emulators and games.
It's almost unbelievable.

Don't forget Amiga (fingers crossed)!

Wow, this is a real explosion for the GP2X. Squidge is some kind of cosmic entity.

Is it just me or does the rom selector have the folder it is located within as the default location for roms instead of /roms/megadrive folder?

It defaults to that instead of Root/roms/megadrive/, easy enough to change directory and save the settings to make sure DrMd remembers it.

Yeah, that was easily fixed, but some roms are completely freaking out on me, and only the directional controls seem to work so I can't seem to confirm anything which is strange. And yes I have tried re-configuring the controls.

Same here. I only tried Sonic 3 real quick. Framerate was amazing, but buttons were all screwy.

No problems with buttons on Sonic 3 for me. I played it for about ten minutes.

Running 59-61 fps constant w/ no OC. It's a friggin' dream!

If you pause sonic 3 (I haven't tested other games) there are random black lines that appear on the left and right sides of the screen.

Looks like I managed to crash it:

> Opened DrMD
> .. > roms > megadrive
> Open Dune II rom (load fine, intro plays)
> Press Select
> MD Options
> Save current ROM Folder (saves fine)
> Return
> Press X
> Freezes

Impressive releases, I'm sure I was just unlucky - I rebooted the 2X, and it saved the rom directory, and Sonic and Knuckles runs at a swell 61 FPS :)

My question is, if the screen doesn't display at 60FPS, then how can the emu's display at 60fps?
Get a high-speed camera and prove that to me :) :p :D.

Interesting, I will have to download that emu and read the new readme when I get home.

So this hack works because the Blitter is using the high memory? I don't know why this should work is what I mean.
