Hu6280 Now Has Cdrom Support!

Excellent!

Can someone post a good tutorial on ISO ripping for PC Engine CD games? Also, do we need the ram cart rom in the roms directory? Lastly, is cd sound supported or is this just play game data at the moment?

Ok, I answered a few of my own questions.

First off, sound effects work in the games, but cd sound doesn't seem to be supported (since you load the game iso, not a toc or cue file). Also, it doesn't seem like the ram cart rom is needed. Lastly, I used TurboRipv1.00 to rip my original Lords of Thunder game cd.

The only thing I'm unsure about is which ISO to load after ripping the cd. Some games have to ISOs, one at the beginning and one at the end. Are these just copies of each other to keep seek times lower on old slow cd rom hardware?

Vobbo, you rock. Yes please someone make a tutorial on how to rip them. Ive got a few ISO's already, but they dont seem to work.

ARRRG. I don't have any abattery anymore!!

So far it just boots the game data track... (usually track #2) - As for ripping the CD's , I use my own little tool to make a .toc file (with track info) and then .iso or .wav for the cd tracks.

I too, am slighty confused with this.

Dont be confused!

It only boots ISO images at the moment... that means no CDDA audio tracks at all...

You can just play the games for now!

If in doubt of which track to boot, boot track #2 - 95% of PC-Engine CD's use track #2 as the data track.

ISO files show up in the menu selector, just like roms, just select one and play... simple!

I have put them into:

/mnt/sd/roms/pcengine/iso/

Do they go in the Gradius dir, in the root of the above?

I have also changed the config file to point there...

Any ideas, nothing is showing up on the menu?

Is the auto naming OK? Are spaces allowed? ?Mixed case?

Help.....

Thats because track one is a audio track for CD players incase you put it in there telling you that it is a PE engine game disk and not music...or something like that in Japan speak !
