Okay, I was reading an ebook on Lazy reader two nights ago, and I switched to another text.
I had a message error ( you know the Mr spiv error with the two columns of faulty data), so everything was blocked.
I already had that so i did nto worry and switched off and on the GP.
Now this is the situation:

-In Wind ups the background is scrambled from mid dow of the screen.
-I cannot access lazy reader anymore and get the same error each time I open it
-Many .FXE refuse to start and give aforementioned error.

NOW...

What should I do? Reinstall Lazy reader? Reinstall Wind ups? reinstall all? Any suggestions?

Mostly happens when your SMC is writing / reading something and you turn it off in mid process. Using euro fw or slubman/aquafish etc, the GP32 resets when it crashes instead of going to Spivs bug report screen.

I remember trashing an SMC with fMSX because the R button was used for screenshots, and I turned it off not knowing I had taken a screenshot in the process.

Thanks to everyone for their reply.

Apparently you're right, it is the card trashed, i'll need to reformat it, another card works flawlessly.

One other question though, how do i reinstall wind ups? I seem to remmeber I had to follow a procedure and take away a fxe file, but do not remember well

Okay, I admit it, I do not know what to search, where do I find the Bios?

Okay, basically when i boot I boot inside a Windups but WITHOUT icons. So i get the basic background of Windups, the one with the blue lines.

I can even access the windups menu to change icons and background and get even the informations on WU ( you know... "WU made by..." ecc)

So from now on what? Should I just copy the WU file without the WU .fxe?

do you even get windups when you boot without smc inserted?
if not, if it goes to the yellow original korean firmware, its very likely that you have gpbios installed.

thing is, if you have windups really flashed, it should not be affected by the state of your smc card...
