Wind-ups/gpbios Issues

I have a GP32 NLU(used to be a FLU, but I screwed it up) and a BLU+. I tried using Wind-ups before on my BLU+(the one I had first), but I could only seem to find a .fxe of it. I want my GP32 to boot directly into wind-ups as though it's a firmware. Maybe I'm retarded or just missing something here, but wind-ups isn't actually a firmware... Or is it? I can't seem to find a .bin of it, and as far as I can tell, you need a .bin to flash your GP32. So I just recently discovered GPbios, which is the closest thing to booting directly into Wind-ups. So I have to see a screen with a biohazard symbol for about half a second before, but sure enough, it goes right into wind-ups after that. Well, I tried flashing my BLU+ to GPbios to achieve the same thing... But low and behold, BPbios isn't BLU+ compatible! And even though all the programs I have for my GP32 are, the fact that I'm running GPbios makes all the rest show that stupid white bar across the top of the screen... Is there a BLU+ compatible version of GPbios out there that I just can't find? If not, could somebody possibly make it compatible? And finally, where the heck can I get a .bin so I can just flash wind-ups directly instead of using GPbios at all? And if I don't need a .bin, can someone point me to a flashing tool that'll flash from a .fxe? If this is all posted in vain, and nobody can help me, that's quite alright. I have no problem with the european firmware... I just like the windows clone look of wind-ups, as well as the customization. And it's easier to make little shortcuts on the "desktop" labeled as "NES, SNES, Genesis, etc." when other people use it than it is to try to explain what the hell LJGP.fxe, DrMD.fxe, or fGB32.fxe are.

I`ve never used GPbios and have a couple of original Blu`s, So don`t suffer from the Blu+ incompatibility issues. Have you tried flashing with Pacrom ?, It`s actually part of The Mr Spiv`s MultiFirmware. It has an option to boot straight into any program that is on your SMC, Without any crap loading screen appearing, And it boots VERY quick.

Click the "Firmware, MultiFW and related.." link under the "Shortcuts.." heading towards the top of the page, Then click the second link down labeled "multifw2.fxe" to download a runable version of the firmware with intergrated flasher and verifier. Place it in the root of your SMC and run it.

It's been a long time since I messed with my GP32's Firmware (actually since I messed with the GP32 in general, but hey). But I remember that it boots directly to Wind-ups, and a little experimentation shows that not only does it boot directly into it, but that since it does so without an SD inserted, it includes the .fxe.

http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,42,456 should be BLU+ compatible, and includes WindUps 0.9. It's probably your best bet.

I think the non BLU+ version of http://www.gp32x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,42,839 that is the one I use (the linked one is the BLU+ firmware), though iirc Aquafish's was more popular by the end of the GP32's lifespan.

Note, though, that for a Wind-Ups firmware to work properly, you have to have thw Wind-Ups data files installed on your SD card. Otherwise you get a blank, functionless, desktop.

Okay... I looked at that multifirmware before, but I didn't try it because I don't really want multiple firmwares, and I want it to boot directly into wind-ups. According to the website, it has a "boot selector." Does that mean it opens the first time you run it and then boots to whatever you want it to afterwards, or do you have to modify it somehow, or what? I don't want to have to pick to boot to wind-ups. That defeats the purpose of even having wind-ups because then I have to go thru 2 launchers to play anything.
