Seeing as everyone seems to be revealing stuff...

I've spent the past few weeks designing and coding a clone of Kuru Kuru Kururin for the GP2X.

Currently it's not as full-featured as I'd like it to be, but it is functional and playable. Unfortunately my GP2X is in Yorkshire at the moment, being repaired, so I won't be able to publish a beta yet.

However, I can present a couple of screenshots:

This is the menu. The acual pointer thing will probably be altered at some point because it refuses to spin round any more.

An in-game shot. The map tiles are indeed taken from an RPG tileset, but the artist is, I believe, re-doing levels (or will be at some point) to take advantage of the nature of Kuru Kuru Kururin and really look like the game.

The game's data is very much editable, and I even include a guide in the package on how to create your own levels. I hope to end up with some community level packs, but I'll have to see.

That's all for now, I'll be back with more when I get my GP2X returned!

PS: All credit for the graphics should go to NoidZ (and some freely available tilesets), as I can't draw for anything.

...oh man. Ohmanohmanohman.

I love this game. I have it on GBA. I can't wait to see how this will be.

If you need a beta tester, I'll do it :D;

Glad to hear some support for it too.

Also very good to hear you'll be starting work again, NoidZ. Good luck with your exams!

You were? Ah, sorry about that :). I'm intrigued as to how you handle collisions though, as my collision detection code, though pixel-perfect, isn't particularly good at judging where the helicopter should bounce to.

have to look at it, the source is on another pc somewhere, but you know its fenix....

I now have a beta ready, you can get it here.

It only has two levels at present, so I'm looking for people to make levels. There's information on how to create levels in the zip, in a file called editinfo.txt (though some info there might be outdated).

Enjoy, post bug reports and comments here.

hello mate. Just had a quick blast on the beta.. It's looking good.. However... I've just been to a time trial and finished the first level. It showed me the screen with
Continue?
B continue
Y Return to main menu
and it's hung. Had to reboot the GP2X. Just tried again and its hung in the same place.

Anyone else confirm that?
