My battery died while my GP2X was plugged in and i was transfering files onto it. Now my memory card isn't responding when i try to open it on my PC, but all my files still run fine on my gp2x.
help?

Sounds like it 'might' be a bad FAT table, if you have any PC disk repair tools try running them on it. Failing that you might fix it with a reformat...

When i try to reformat, it just stops responding. I hit "reformat" in the drop down menu, and i just get the hourglass endlessly. Any ideas?

I put it in my dvd recorder which had a sd reader built-in and formatted it from there :).
Try that, or maybe you have a camera or a pda which uses SD cards, then try formatting from one of those devices.

Fringus - the SD card is probably dead. I had a similar experience. SD cards appear to be rather easy to brick.

I have found that the GP2x likes FAT but not FAT32.
Nah, I dont think its dead, I have used 2 smart media cards for over two years and I never had any problems.
