I've managed to speed up DosBox a bit. Change/Add the following things in dosbox.conf:

[render]
frameskip=2
aspect=false
scaler=none

[cpu]
core=simple
cycles=auto
cycleup=500
cycledown=20

this definitly made NUMBER MUNCHERS run faster! i upped the frameskip to 3 and i switched from sb emulatoin to pc speaker emulation.

i'm using the blockout example mapper.txt and number munchers is playable but you can't toggle sounds/music.

any other number muncher fans have a tweaked out config that works great?

i tried running blockout, but only got to the dos prompt screen. not realizing i also needed the exutable file.

so i tried it with commander keen and all i get is a black screen.

I finally got Tyrian2000 to run. Simply download it from any abandonware site and use it with my (kinda sucking) config. My config assumes that dosbox is in /mnt/sd/EmusInterpreters and Tyrian 2000 in an subdirectory called "Tyrian".

When you turn detail level to "low" and speed to "turbo", it's almost playable....

Get it here:http://archive.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1281

I just put dosbox on my gp2x (1.4 w/ quickboot flash) and Tyrian aswell as your config, but when I run the .gpe, it just launches me right back to the main menu. Any idea what might be happening?
