Due to the 'interesting' placing of the power on the GP2X it would be great if someone made a power supply where the jack was encased in a housing that fitted round the edge of the GP2X. This would enable you to have the power cable sneaking out of the top or bottom which would be far more pleasant.

Know what you mean about "interesting" but I think this one is down to bad desidn and its still going to protrude out near the buttons. Anything deigned around the case is probably going to look worse! :( That will also interfere with shoulder buttons, tv/ out cable etc.Stick with good rechargables unless your just watching a film. Good luck.

I find that with a straight connector of the type required, I can slip the connector between my pointer and middle fingers and still play it with reasonable comfort.

What about a power-pack supply like the 3rd party GBA rechargable powerpacks? Clips into the slot for the AA batteries, and the DC goes straight to the pack. Plus it could be a good solid 2500maH pack ;) Hmm, Now, who can make us custom hardware... :)

I'd buy one as my units power supply doesn't work (maybe because of that 5v adaptor I tried )

Maplin sells "dummy" AAs. Could a DC Input Socket be soldered onto the positive of one and negative of the other to create a sort of second input for a power adapter? Someone with reasonable skill with a oldering iron should be able to come up with something. (Admittedly it wouldn't be rechargeable and would involve removing the batteries each time to use it, but it would be in a better position than the current one.)
