Finally recieved my GP2X (that I preordered in Sep!!!), but of course I haven't recieved my SD card (hopefully today!)

Everything appears to be working great on it haven't noticed any problems with scanlines, the joystick is a tad stiff, but nothing major.

When I get my card, I know I need to format it FAT32, but where do I put the apps, movies/music and other things?

or does it not matter? I recall reading that when you do the 'music' it basically has a filter, only showing the music files in the browser. Same for movies, and games.

My only other question is the f/w - I'd really like to upgrade - can I do that straight from v1.0 to 1.1? (skipping the updates in between?)

I can't wait to at least fire this thing up and show a few people around here what an 'open source' media machine can do. I didn't buy the 2X for gaming really, but the PSX support (thus far!) is freakin' amazing!!! Now, what about N64....

Thanks for all your support on this site people!! Normally I just lurk, but I hadta post since I actually *have* my 2X now!!

You might want to check out the GP2X guide 1.2, it has a lot of enlightenment and good info, I think covers everything that you are looking for. For the most part you can throw stuff where ever you want, and the filter would take care of it, but of course it's best to organize. Follow the readme's for emulators, b/c they have their own directory structure.

As for N64, we all wish, but it isn't likely, and is most likely not possible. Too much to emulate and too powerful of a CPU and GPU.

Have fun, play nice.
