Psx Running On The Gp2x

I LOVE YOU. I heard about this system last night but was a little put off by the fact that it didn't have a PSX emulator yet. Thank you so much, good luck getting it working! :D

Don't get to excited just yet. It runs very slowly if at all and without a menu system it is really awkward.

... It doesn't matter.
You still win for doing this. Thanks so much for your work. :D

Wow this is all happening too fast! :) I really wasn't expecting this so soon. I want my gp2x NOW!

OK so I've tested it with a few PSX games I have and so far no luck. Just stuck on the green screen. I mostly tried mostly Capcom games since I think we'd have better luck running 2d games.

zodttd : I tried my copy of Einhander but it doesn't boot up. Should a game boot up right away after loading?

Great work BTW. Glad your part of the GP2X community.

Before releasing GP2X,
if someone said SNES will work soon on it, he might be toasted
(no need to mention neogeo)

Even after releasing GP2X,
if someone said PSX will work, he might be burned too

Whoao... How fast is this machine evolving?

It is only ONE month it came out!!

EDIT: I love you zodttd, man!!

If you guys plan on testing ISOS I suggest using Ripped versions cause most likely it wont be able to rendor Cinematics, which will cause it to freeze :p

Since its so early.

I've converted my games to bin.z using pocketiso and removing the audio as well as the video files.

Well, I had always been hopeful that PSX emulation could be done on the GP2x, but I never dreamed there would be ANY sort of release before I actually got the unit I preordered!

Zodttd, you are *awesome* :D

Rampage2: World Tour

IT WORKS!!!!

Plays at around 6-7fps, main sprite is perfect the rest of the gfx are a bit messed up (garbled colours and just messed up)

BUT IT WORKS!!! WAHOOOOO!

I used pocketiso to remove all music and video it made a 377meg bin file into a 116meg bin.znx.

Thank you so much for porting this I will try some more isos and report back.

OMG...here I was defending the possibility of PSX emulation being doable and to see it well begun even before my preorder arrives....you win. Heaps of nerd-cred have come your way in this community for this. :D

Frankly, if you can get Castlevania SOTN to run at any kind of playable speed I will drug my own wife and make her available for your pleasure. Well, her sister, anyway. :)

SimCity2000, no luck stays on Green Screen.
Bubble Bobble PSX hack, no luck Green Screen.
DragonBallZ: Final bout, no luck Green screen. (don't even ask me why I have this one but it was small ok) :)

I am trying small non 3D games on purpose, besides I only have a 256meg card atm.

Also I don't beleive anyone hoping for PSone emulation even conciders the 3d games as viable. All anyone could hope for is the 2D games and even then they'll be slower than regular speed.

'cmon.. let's prove ancient misconceptions wrong!!! try and find a 3d game that works!
