Well its a bit of a luck thing just to be able to flash the gp2x. But do the benefits out weigh the disadvantages? well lets see what u think.

So far for sure. Louder movie player. Better screen, although it's still very dark and looks a little interlaced in video playback. I have no comments re: new support for SD cards as I have my SD card problems sorted through.

I didn't spend much time with the old firmware, I just jumped right on the 1.0.1(yeah right, more like 0.9.1)

I plan to update until I don't see an upside.

Not sure yet, because 1.0 is working just fine here.

Once a firmware comes out that has significant advantages, I'll update then, but I'm leaving it as is for now.

I updated to 1.01 out of necessity.... My GP2X would not write to my SD card (although it would read from and upgrade firmware from it), and now it does! Makes me happy, because now I can save my games in Quake.....

The only disappointing thing is the diagonal lines are back on the LCD.....

anyways, I do not have an gp2x but I would say: upgrade!

I like the gp2x better now I've upgraded the firmware. B4 I couldn't use frodo, it just kept going back to the menu. The screen isn't too bad but I hope another firmware update fixes it.

I had problems getting the SDL installed before the firmware upgrade, so I'm happy.
