Wouldn't an RTS be fun?

Good day.. I just received my GP32 in the mail yesterday. I must say I'm having a blast playing SCUMM games that I never got around to when they came out. Tons of fun! Thanks to the posters in forums such as this one: before I bought the thing, I had a very good idea of what to expect, and that's what I got.

I was just thinking: wouldn't it be great to have an RTS port like Warcraft I or II? I would have to buy another set of rechargables. Or maybe there are some classic RTS games that I don't know about for some of the emulated systems?

Just a thought.

And thanks again for the active forum: it really helped in my decision-making process and set-up of the GP32 when it arrived!

Cheers,
Zoink.

yes i brought this up often when i first got my gp32 nothing much has happened. I would just love an rts :) imagine command and conquer or atleast just a simple version of it would be luverly ! ! !

try "warlocked" for Gameboy Color, I don't know if it runs well in the emulator but it was pretty well-received when it was released a couple years ago.

hopefully we'll also see emulation of "herzog zwei" on sega genesis if that emulator ever comes to fruition (that would be amazing with linked play!!)

I prefer turn based my self, but any origonal strat' game would be welcome. It would be nice for one to use the true power of the GP not one that pisses most of it away on emulation.

More origonal GP games please :D

Cool, thanks, I'll check out Warlocked & post how well (if) it runs on the emulators.

'Pirates' maybe for the Nes. No wait, it's more of an RPG, but it's good. Totally pointless post there.

"had" being the operative word. Blizzard has cease and desisted the website out of existance. If someone still has the source lying around, then maybe they could give it a go, but it's certainly not available anymore.

Ralp thanks for mentioning warlocked- i'm going to have to buy that.

Zoink: try millitarymadness on the PCengine, it's a kind of turnbased dune2/battleisle set in the future, with loads od differant units. Kind of similar to 'Advance wars' on the GBA. Also Gameboywars might be cool. If the Genesis emu ever gets finished, give Dune2 a try. And on the NGP you can get front mission (turnbased mecha, if I remember correctly) but again, that emu is still waiting for release.
I'd love to develop an RTS for the GP, if I ever get time i'll give it a go. THere were screenshots of an RTS by gamepark, but it never turned up :(

Found a used copy of Warlocked :) .. it runs pretty well in GPVSB011 and GPVSGB. A little flickery when you scroll around. The game is basically Warcraft, just what I was looking for! Thanks for the suggestion, ralp99.

Front Mission on NGP? Surely not - you're thinking of Faselei!

Which is much the same thing :)
My mistake, I meant wonderswan colour. Not sure if it's just in japanese though.

There's some pics here:

some good Engrish going on there too. In theory you could run this on the old WS emu, but best wait for the new one. I've looked on Ebay and Liksang for an English version, no joy though :(
