New Movie, Neocd Emul Working

if its real i dont know, but its possible.. (look at Dreamcast, PSP) have to wait and see (and i cant wait ;) )

Well, noone knows if it is fake or not, just assume its not, well see when the gp2x is out. and if its real - it rocks :)

To me it appears real, although I am always a believer in any given situation. And appearing real, it looks *extremely* nice :D. Looking forward to seeing how far this goes :)

Also quite cool that this emu is being made by a Korean Dev as opposed to a Western one - with the GP32, the Korean users/devs definitely existed, but tended to make games; there's not a great deal - if anything - in the way of emulators that has come out of the GP32's mother country, so its darn good to see something coming out (hopefully) for the 2X :D

Good point reallynotnick, and if the neogeo CD game runs should we also assume that the arcade game under mame would work as well? Being a sceptic I must say that he could have been video taping a video he recorded from his computer and tried his best to mimic the movements on the controls while the movie was playing. But I love the Metal Slug series and if it will play Ill be very very pleased.

Awsome, but does this mean I need to dowload giant neogeo CDs?

You can allways rip your games straight from the CD's. ;)

Gosh I don't know how that never crossed my mind, being that I was too young to play video games back when the neogeo cd came out nor did I have what was it $500+ for the console.

Yeah Neo CD is kind of impractical for a handheld. The ISOs just take too much space. Then you have to have the MP3 files names correctly and laid out exactly right with the righ bitrate etc. It is a pain. I tried it on the PSP but I couldn't even fit one lousy game on the card as it was so big. You will fill up a 2 gig card real fast with only a few games. MVS is a much more practical option as the ROMs aren't so huge.

That video was probably real as it was choppy. Remember too that it was with NO sound either, as soon as that is added it will slow to a crawl. ASM cores like cyclone and DRZ80 would have to be used to get speed from it.

it's not THAT bad. i was able to fit a couple(smaller) neocd games on my 256mb stick back when i had my psp.
i think the average for a neocd game is about 100mb or so.

Fortunatly the storage on the GP2X and available in twice the size. It also sounds as if OGG files would be a better storage option, and a better one.

Neo Geo CD games arent that big, and memory for the GP2X is much cheaper than for the PSP.
And if it runs Metal Slug like that, I don't need sound.

Vorbis takes much more processing power to decode than MP3.

Absolutely, but it might not be an issue, if one CPU is used for the music playing is moved to the second CPU, then surely its just a matter of choosing the best format for the job.
