I'll be continuing devving for the GP32 mainly in a first instance.. there's soo much to be added I don't wanna get distracted by just the kick of running on a newest platform.. plus I think it is not very nice for the people that bought a GP32 just for running the piggy. I'd say I'll port it to the 2x by next april or something. Just the time I need to get major features in ;)

Please, Chui, port Fenix to the 2x! :D

And yes, Fenix can eventually become slow on the GP32, especially when you have 100x leet processes and 16bit graphics! :p

I'm planning to move to the GP2X, then my GP32 will sit next to my GBA and gather dust. Come on people, live in the now. Let the past go! :)
If you say so Reesy ;)

You know what would be hilarious? If Reesy was saying that just to convince people to go over to the 2X so that he could stay on the GP32 as a lone godlike developer and make it do unheard of tricks that shatter the human mind.

But that'd never happen!

 right?

I only heard about GP32 because of the recent news reporting on the GP2X.
I thought it was a brilliant concept, so I bought a GP32 cheap on ebay, so that
I can get up to speed on the scene, since there is still a while to wait until the launch of GP2X.

As someone new to the scene this thread doesnt get me down. I read somewhere when I ordered my GP32 that the scene had dried up, but in the week since then a Duke3D port was released & Reesy has picked up openSNES.

I used to frequent the Dreamcast dev scene back in the day and people said that was dead back then, but if you click there now that still seems to be alive and well-so stop worrying!

For now there is enough active projects on GP32 to keep up interest, and we should be excited that so many of the current dev-ers are going to continue to develop for the GP2X.

I look forward to recieving both machines and becomming a part of this scene.

Take care.

well.. upsetting to read this in a way, exciting in another..
i am happy to have GP32 and not looking to upgrade (not impossible, of course, but it would be nice, someday!! So I guess inevitable.. eventually)

The poll response is interesting; most will dev for both devices (and of course Fenix folks will code for both); but notice theres a relatively large number of people (given the small poll size :) who are here just for the gp2x -- not bad for a device not even available yet :)

I voted GP2X only... mainly because I sold my GP32 months ago along with other stuff because i was majorly broke :( didn't really get that much done for the GP32 anyways... clean break for me, determined to kick out a few useable things for the GP2X :)

should be interesting to see how quickly GP32 things get ported over to the GP2X... mines just going to probably be a movie viewer and dev tester for the first month or two like everyone else's till emu's start appearing
