Hi,

I'm looking for someone with a GP32 that will NOT overclock past 132Mhz or at least has limited overclocking ability. I want to test a cpu setting the Rlyeh has found that gives really good performance at 132Mhz, on my GP32 it gives performance equal to 180Mhz.

When in the emulator set the cpu speed to 133Mhz and have the sound on. If you try to use any other speed you will find it is slower than usual this is because I've had to hack the sound core in order to get the sound correct for the new cpu setting.

Let me know here how you get on, thanks

Reesy

i will test that asap

edit : ok i tested it and, well, i cant believe it!!!!
ok i can overclock my unit (200 mhz), so it is not what you wanted....but, at 133 mhz with the new version, i have 55+ fps on sonic 2, and at 180 mhz (and even more) with the normal version(2.0) i have "only" 40 fps, so i think that a confirmation of a unit without overclocking ability will confirm what i think : YOU ARE A GOD

Too bad you only want people with limited overclocking...
But really, performance=to 180 mhz at 132mhz!!??
This sounds insanely awesome!!! :D
I will try it! :D

I will praise of you in my sig and title!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Btw, anychance the ryleh might be willing to share this setting with other devs... Opensnes would gain much from this.... as would many other emulators... :D

you're right onionfrog, if Opensnes could have this "capacity", omg, i cant think about it, all the rpg the snes has....full speed and sound.
stop, i should not take my dreams for reality :D
but still, lets imagine....

Hi,

I tested on my <144Mhz GP32 FLU and it just hangs after loading. (white screen)

I'm using slubmans FW with PC link thing

this sounds interesting tho
i know now why you wanted people with non overclockable unit, i hope this is just due to the firmware

it hanged on my blu+ too, i deleted previous drmd config for being sure to start from a clean situation

hm, it works fine for me (allthough I have a 214 MHz NLU). But we could try, if it drains batteries fastert than 180.

I've just realised that the cpu speed while in the DrMD menu is 132Mhz, so if this new version of DrMD is crashing as soon as it starts then its save to say that the new cpu setting is not compatible with your GP32. It must be still be overclocking something on the GP32, not sure what though, probably the memory.

Oh well thanks for your help anyway.

well, it would still be sweet, if it would use less batteries than 180. unfortunatelly i don't have any charged so I can't try. Would be sweet if domeone with 2 GPs could run this one at 132 and the original DrMD at 180 at the same time and then tell, which one passes out earlier.

Yes someone please try it...

This is amazing though!
Vectorman runs smooth 30ish fps
So does comix zone!!!
