The seller states you can buy 512M SMC's he/she doesn't explicitly state they will work with the GP32

That's getting a bit pedantic though. Most people reading the auction (epsecially those that know little about GP32) will think this means that it can read 512MB cards.

But I thought 128MB was the highest SMC card that could be bought anyway, didn't they stop at that size?

woohoo, hughes and charga_man should open up a club! <_<

Sorry, charga_man, you really got better (atleast your not opening one stupid thread after another anymore :p )

In earlier discussions, it was stated that the lagest SMC you can buy is 128MB, but the GP32 should be able to handle SMC's with sizes up to 1GB. (Technically, no one's ever tried, though...) Search the forum! I bet there's lots of more topics about this than the one I read!

The BIOS can't handle media sizes above 128mb. That's why you can't use larger size XD cards with an adapter.

It *is* possible, but with every application having to be recompiled with new routines would make it impractical. The best we can hope for is a big card, like a 1gb SD card, and some kind of bank switching to give multiple, virtual, smc's.
;)

Sorry charga_man, this time I ment it positive for you :)

And damn, Trooper, I clicked your link! I`m an idiot! Whaaaaa!

A few tips:
- use the help board or faq wherever possible
- avoid opening new topics needlessly

Since you're new I'll cut some slack, but try not to make so many threads in the future as everyone competes for space on the hallowed General talk first page :)
