Must-buy-wipeout-pure-now!!

yes but only because there ARE other great games out there just as worth getting. Well and yeah that is a lot of money to pay to play one game... but then... people do buy arcade cabinets for one game all the time... so... knock yourself out :)

NBA another game not to buy, the one made by 989 studios I think it is.

Twisted metal head on recieved an 8 on IGN so I'm definately buying it.

THUG 2 got 8.7 also good....

Waiting for the MGA review.

man, don't compare streets of rage to this dynasty warriors shit :p

why not it's the same kind of game? What's so different about them, other than their setting, and that one is old school 2d vs. the others new school 3d? You still just run around, beating on every person you see, and it's the same in that it's usually just usually you versus ump-teen enemies at once.

They are very similiar games, and I would say that one is as fun as the other, though SoR is more stylish, if anything, and has way better music. Have you even PLAYED Dynasty Warriors?

I'm loving both THUG 2 and Spiderman 2 so far. I read the Gamespot review of spiderman, they said exactly what I have said so far, that it actually is very fun and well done game, just that many of the levels are over too fast, and I guess the game is over too fast as well though I played for 2 hours last night and I dont think I'm even half way thru yet... have only gotten to the first super villain so far (Mysterio) and his level in the Wax Museum is pretty damn cool... way better than the Mysterio fight on the console Spiderman 2 games. The game is just hard enough on hard.

Tony Hawk is Tony Hawk :p I never was very good at this game but I still have a lot of fun at it but damn it is hard for me. I'm not too fond of the world destruction tour mode though and am spending most of my time playing the 'classic mode' which is just like the first three TH games, i.e.: 2 minutes to complete as many goals and wrack up as many points as you can. I wish they had made the PSP just slightly bigger as the Square button and right on the D pad are too close to the screen and with TH I'm all over the place on the buttons and putting finger smudges all over the sides of the screen.

kotd - 989 sports games have always sucked... no surprise there. I'm already very tired of twisted metal... and if you've EVER liked any turn based board game or strategy game, you will like MGA. Everybody calls it a card game which it is but don't let that make you think it is ANYTHING like f'ing yugioh because it definately is NOT. I will buy it again in English for sure, I feel it's definately worth another $50, as the game has a very high amount of replay value IMO. Worth getting and also the game is pretty long, 7-10 hours worth or more if you go back to get all the hidden stuff and wrack up money to buy all the cards.

*Agrees*
Nothing is anywhere near as good as the old 2d beatemups... Especially streets of rage, That series rocks!
Beatemups just dont translate well into 3d..

seriously have ANY of you guys played dynasty warriors at all? On the contrary, I'd say in this case, the beat-em-up genre has translated pretty well to 3D. Hey there must be some reason it's on it's like 50th sequel and sells like hotcakes in the US AND Japan... Before playing it on PSP I never understood why the PS2 Dynasty Warriors always sell so well, even 'remix' versions of already released installments (Dynasty Warriors Extreme was just a remix of 3 or 4 wasn't it?).

I mean this game ALWAYS sells out when it first releases....

Well whatever why am I trying to convince you guys anyways... hey if you guys dont want to like it well then so be it but *I'M* having fun with it.

Wrong, play Die hard arcade or Spike out, awesome 3D beat em ups better than 2D I think. If its done properly (Sega), than they're much better in 3D.

LOL 989 studios killed the twisted metals off. Than I played black and it was back to being a fan :D

Yeah I like card games, some are really good like on the Neo Geo pocket, I think I'll buying it, plus its only $40!

hell yes i have! but of course not the psp version, but we all know it's the same game using the same formula its ps2 counterparts use. daamn, those games are so annoying. beatemups in general are repetitive, but this game takes it to a whole new level! plus the generic soundtrack and boring story/strategy. too bad one of my friends loves this game..*shudder*

and i do agree beatemups translate pretty good into 3d, but there're a lot of 3d beatemups that suck very badly. i will acknowledge the good ones like zombie revenge, ...............damn, i can't think of anymore, but i know there are a grip of good 3d beatemups out there.
anyway, classic beatemups like SOR and the like were/are SO awesome and fun to play, while dynasty warriors(games like it, too) suck SO hard right off the bat.
i'm a big beatemup fan, but i will hate any shitty beatemup game with a passion, and this game is no exception.

*shrug* to each their own I guess... but seriously I dont see how the game can just be SO crappy as you make it sound if it always sells like crazy. whatever... I enjoy it... that's all that matters to me :)

Wipeout is one of my favorite games of all time. Wasted many an hour in Uni playing and playing and playing, both on PS1 and PC (very similar).

Cant wait for me PSP to come!!!!

From what i've seen from reviews of Metal Gear Acid, its not that good. Most of them say the graphics are good but the people reviewing didnt like the way konami took it. But they said at least its a starting point for future Metal Gear releases.

Odd... because I have the Japanese one, and, though I can't read one lick of Japanese, I have greatly enjoyed playing Acid and am almost at the very end now. I did run into some difficulties because of the language barrier but nothing that a quick trip to gamefaqs.com couldn't solve, and that was only two or three times...

Anyways... it's odd to hear such bad things about these games... usually, I'm VERY picky about what I play or what I will say is a good game... having way too many games to play, and not nearly enough time to play them in, I tend to dedicate what time I have to real "A List" titles only, and really dont like to waste time on anything that just flat out sux. Not trying to say Dynasty Warriors is A list... that one is just a fun little diversion, best taken in short doses, but I would easily rate Acid pretty highly... at least an 8 out of 10... reasons being a) yes it's a gorgeous game, B) it's a nice mix of strategy and the randomness of a card game, it keeps you thinking, and no mission is ever a given... if you get dealt sucky cards you have to deal with it, c) almost every level is very enjoyable to play thru even after passing it once, d) the difficulty level seems just right, and e) it's not a short game, but can be taken in short bursts or you can sit and play for a couple hours if you feel so compelled (I often did... helped the hours at work fly by REAL fast!)

What few magazine hands on previews I've read (Gamespot, Electronic Gaming Monthly) have given it very favorable previews... who is saying it's not that good?
