When I had the original Korean firmware it worked a treat but since I flashed no matter what firmware I use I always have a silimar problem to the one above...

What I have found is it's an order thing...

Set the GP32 to link, then plug in the USB lead, then run GPManager.

Any other order and it don't work for me... so maybe try that?

Actually a better order would be...

Set the GP32 to link, then plug in the USB lead, then run GPManager, then buy a card reader (as trooper suggested)

Right ive bought a card reader as you have suggested now what? ive managed to get into one of my smc fine but the other one wont recognise that its there and when i put files on it the gp32 says that there are no files there or the card needs formating. Ive formated it sevral times but to no avail

If you have one smc that works and one that doesn't, you can put Slubman's Commander (the .fxe version of Slubman's Firmware) on the working smc and use its smc formatting option. You can get it at the file archive.

Slubman commander is, by default, set to German language mode. Press select and change it to your language. Then format your SMC by selecting FORMAT, pressing A and selecting Yes.

Does the SMC format ok in windows using the card reader ?. If it does, Try slubmans format option again and see how it goes. If it doesn`t format ok in windows, Then the card is probably knackered.

EDIT: Do you get any bad block messages on completion of the format option in slubmans commander ?.

What version of windows are you using ?, And what type of card reader do you have eg. Is it a multi-card reader or a single card reader just for SMC`s (Smart Media Cards) ?.

In "my computer" (usually via the start button), Look for the icon that represents your card reader. With a card in the reader, Right click said icon and left click the word format in the context menu that appears. The format dialogue box will then appear. In the file system box, Select fat as the file system and untick quick format if it is selected. Click start and see what happens.

Sounds like you got a dud card (the one that won`t format completely in windows).

Btw: Did you re-format in slubman`s commander ?, Otherwise the GP won`t be able to read the card.
