New Taiwanese LCD GP2 with White Bars

Ok, so how'd you get the gray frame off? did you take any screws out?
Also, when we talk about the "plastic", do we just mean that little flimsy piece of plastic on top of the screen thats on there with static cling??

It looks like Lik Sang WILL be asking at least $450 for the PSP's. They have been released already in Japan, and probably already sold out (it's 8pm Japan time as I type this). Lik Sang says on their webpage that " Not all import gamers worldwide will be able to get their unit from the first batch, and those few lucky ones who must and can receive theirs at launch need to get used to launch prices - which is by now US$ 450 to US$ 600 for a Value Pack and game." this is quoted from their webpage.

CUH RAZEEEEEE.

But... I'd still buy one :)

Hi,

It is possible of resolve this problem of white lines without returning the GP32?

it looks like it is both possible and likely

As a matter of fact, it looks like returning your unit to Lik Sang and getting another one may very likely NOT solve the problem.

I think that it is wiser to keep the GP32 and to wait until a person finds a solution ...

but it is necessary that somebody concentrates himself on the problem ... :(

i think someone should poke (think of money) some hardware-experienced developer (think spiv) to play around with this screen (think of sending this someone one of those blus) to analyze this problem
doesn't matter for me, tho
i have a kickass non-lit gp32 :D

No there are no screws holding it on. You just pry it off, there is only double stick tape holding it on. We replace the plastic screen under that static cling protector, the one that smudges easy.

Say, here's a question for people, who have had GP's before, and now have a new BLU... Is the screen, in your opinion, better? Crisper, clearer, when it works as it should? Or worse?

In comparison with pictures of old BLUs running Doom conversion I simply cant see a difference. Display is almost perfect, kind of yellow due to plastic "glass" used, but it can be moded with a real glass - so no probs at all.

The "old" BLU had the same yellow glass, so no difference here.

So do the new Taiwanese screens look as good as the older Samsung screens? Could you tell the difference besides the line problems?

Not yet - I ordered a new BLU but it isn't shipped yet.
Can tell you in a few weeks, I guess.
