N-gage

I'm looking to get a new phone and i'm considering an N-Gage, the original. What I can't find out is this. My current phone plan is GSM, the N-Gage is a GSM phone, but you need a SIM card for it. So does the N-Gage have a sim card slot and a game slot? Or do you have to swap out the game for the sim card to make a call?

I think you have to take the sim card out to change the game or something, but obviously you can have both at the same time

On the original N-Gages ,I've heard that the place to change the cards/games is under the batteries, so you have to take out the batteries first.

...and alot of reviews say that the regualar N-Gage feels like a cheap piece of plastic compared to the QD [since the QD has a mostly rubber outside].

i already know that you have to take the battery out to put in a game, what i want to know is if you have to take the sim card out to play a game or if it has 2 different slots, one for the sim card and one for games.

I'm 90% sure there's only one slot. But don't blame me if I'm wrong...

An MMC is atleast twice the size of a SIM card.

Oh and I would got for the 6600 if I was you, alot better than an N-gage, and it can play alot of N-gage games.

I prefer the controls on the N-Gage by far but obviously the 6600 resembles a phone more in appearance. It's also true you need to take the battery out if you wish to change games. This is only a problem if you use original games though. I have a 512Mb MMC card in mine and don't have that problem. :p

i want the original, and you'll think i'm retarded, but I want to look like a side talkin loser thats talking into a Taco.

Go for it, I love the ngage original and would never part with mine. I have a 512MB mmc in my phone which holds EVERY good ngage game and most of the rubbish ones and also some really cool apps.

The battery has to be removed to change the mmc but if you get a big enough one you never need to change it !

Dont listen to people knocking the games either there are tons of excellent games now, fifa 2005, operation shadow, ghost recon, etc etc

I would not bother getting an N Gage.

Its a big let down.

You can get mobiles that can play the N gage games if thats what you were after.

I own both N-gages, I prefer the original over the QD simply because it has more features and the controls aren't as cramped as on the smaller QD. This is given I use the original more for its apps and games rather than as a phone. There are a couple mods out there to fix the side-talkin deal by converting it to "read-talkin'", but considering you're positioning the phone to talk in a different manner than intended, the em waves come in at a different angles that may expose you more than you should be. As for the battery removing problem I whipped up something to fix that, you can find it on my site below.

Have you tried Asphalt? Quite a fun racing game. I have two friends with N-Gages as well so I get to play them at it via bluetooth. :)

You can also play 6600 to 6600 through Bluetooth (on N-gage games), which is nice. Now, to find someone with a S60 phone...
