It all depends on what sort of genre you like. For instance Pinkspider doesn't like driving games, I however quite enjoy them (obviously only decent ones in that genre). On the otherside, I hate RPGs, I simply don't get into them, however loads of people like them. It is totally personal opinion.
I never understood people's liking for Resident Evil, or going way back Pac man!

I had fun with Halo....
Resident Evil games suck to play but are great to watcha friend play. Virtua Fighter is great, SM64= Alright. Vice city was fun if you actually do the missions. Uhh ya the other games are crap.

I think the prob is that some games are over hyped then people are just dissapointed when they get them.

Games that have dissapointed me are:

Splinter cell (havn't tried the second yet, although it looks good online)
Mortal Kombat games

...

I can't actually think of any others right now :D. I suppose I've usually had a go at the games I get so know what to expect before I part with the cash (or rip the disk ;)).

Wow, Pink hates some of the all-time great games!

I don't like stealth games, so I guess Thief, Splinter Cell etc would make my list. Though I loved Metal Gear Solid 1&2 so... hmm...

PS Winning Eleven/Pro Evo is football, FIFA is shite.
Pro Evo and Winning 11 are most definatley football as was kickoff 2

Please add the following to the shit list

All EA games

Especially the FIFA soccer series and Medal of Honor.

Some dumb ass people actually believe you can play EA games.

The thing is they are just rolling demo's there is no interaction.

You might as well watch day time TV

HALO - Yes
Resident Evil - Yes, but I still play them for some reason
Zelda (3D ones) - Yes
Tekken (after 3) - Yes, but you can't include Tag in there since it's just 3 with more characters and pretty graphics
Virtua Fighter - Yes

I agree with you on all of the above. I honestly think Halo is one of the most overrated games ever. Some of the level design is abymsal, it lacks variation, the visuals are bland and multiplayer sucks (yes, even co-op). It's not a terrible game by any means, just not the 'bESt GaMee EvaAR!!!@!' that I've had pumped down my ears for years.

No, no, no. Kick Off 2 isn't football, Sensi Soccer is football! ;)

Medal of Honour games were great until the last one, but then the team that made the earlier ones left and made Call of Duty - also good.

EA's John Madden and NBA series are also good, as good as American sports can be anyway... :p

I don't want to go down the kick off 2 vs sensible soccer 0 road as my opinion on the matter is final(official and 100% right)

The FIFA series however should be destroyed. (I blame them for Englands poor international football performance)

Its like an old woman who keeps putting on more and more makeup.

As is Unreal 2k4 and a couple of the street games (NBA, NFL) and the first two versions of SSX. EA don't deserve the success they get year in year out, but they have made a few good games in amongst the shite.

I don't like the Splinter Cell series but I like the Metal Gear series. Maybe Pinkspider will like GTA SA because he likes riding bikes and listening to MP3's and it has bikes and an MP3 player (on the unannounced PC version) :p

Splinter Cell is so terrible. I would have given it a 3 out of 10 at most, it's dull, boring and slow.

Yup, it is online on the ps2. Now games can be installed over a network at last so I can rip and patch my online games at last (well, once we get another network point put in my room :D). Now I don't have to swap disks ever :).

I thought I was the only one. Then again, I find MGS very fun, but Splinter Cell has nothing on it.
