Gpquake 0.3

ohrite then

thanks anyway

BTW i used to run pocketquake on my PDA it was a 206mhz arm i used to overclock it and run quake i used to get around 15fps on the diffrent demos, the weird thing is this gp32 version seems faster :p or maybe my memory has gone.

Quake will probably run in excess of 200 frames per second! .
incorrect, 300 FPS or over has been achieved in quake 3 (which is far more superior in graphics terms than quake 1) that is, with the newer video cards that are 400 pounds to buy, still waiitng to recieve my 6800 ultra.. yawn :)

How comes it that saving doesn´t work ?
Because we haven't coded it yet :)
Our next release will include full game loading/saving as well as loading of autoexec.cfg files and similar (lets you decrease the texture quality to improve speed, and a few other interesting little tweaks). It's not known yet if mod loading will be supported, but I hope it will.
Great! :)
It would be awesome!

Keep up the good work. :)

question
is the current one ( the 166 one?? is that the newest one? )
set for best graphics detail?
I thought quake looked better, but could be wrong
o well, this works wonderful, yall rock!

It's using the highest detail, but don't forget that the gp32 only runs at 320x240. If you've played quake on windows then you will almost certainly have been using a higher resolution.

What processor speed does GpQuake run at? Just as my BLU can only do 160Mhz without crashing after a few seconds in OSnes, but plays GpQuake fine for ages.

Well, it is still dark if i play it directly under a 100W - lamp :(
And since the oldschool GBA is sold out long ago, it is complicated to get one to mod it... maybe i can use my old GBC wormlight ???

I tried gpquake before and it was very impressive. I couldnt really get into playing it though at 148mhz. Is it properly playable now at these overclocked speeds? I'd have to clear space on my only 128 card to try it so I want to check first!

cheers B)

The problem at the moment is that the actual game speed will increase as you increase clock speed. 160mhz seems a little too slow, and I can't test higher. Once we resolve the problem with the timing the game should run at the correct speed on all clock settings, but obviously higher clock speeds will give you more fps (and I'll chuck in options up to 256mhz for anyone crazy enough to run at those speeds). After the next release we'll start looking at the rendering code to see where we can get a fps increase.

cant wait.. I can only run at 252mhz max so make sure that option is in :p hehe

:D

Keep up the good work B)
