100 Great Ps1 Games

3. Pro evolution soccer
4. Rage Racer
6. Tony Hawk's
7. Gran Turismo
8. Tekken
10. Time Crisis

Would you want to play any of these anymore? They've all been improved upon, mostly by their own sequels. The N64 has all-time great games but not enough merely good games, hence it got beaten soundly by PS1.
In the case of Rage Racer, Time Crisis and Tekken 3, yes I would and yes I do :D

Anyway, I think we've come to a deadend here since we're more-or-less in agreement over this one. The PS1 had more quality titles in its library but the N64 was home to some truly great games that the PS1 just couldn't match. FACT.

i only read like the 1st post but why did you put tekken there when its obvious that tekken 2 + 3 were undeniably better?

other games deserving:

crash team racing
metal gear solid
tony hawks 3? or was it 2?
crash bandicoot 3
syphon filter 3 (or 2 i cant remember how far it got)

When I say 'Tekken' or 'Ridge Racer' I mean the whole Tekken series, not just the first game :p

Yeah.

In fairness Tekken 3 is better then the 2 PS2 versions, hopefully Tekken 5 can change that!

Beetle is great, didn't think much of Donkey Kong 64, either Banjo game or Diddy Kong.

Sadly there probably is only about 30-40 N64 games worth owning.

i dunno... i have never EVER played any good N64 games (except for Zelda Ocarina of time)... and well... i also hate the SNES.
SEGA POWER! the saturn was better than the PSX, the megadrive better than the SNES, and the DC is better than anything out now.
Anyone who says the Mega Drive as better than the SNES really needs help. Ask most people who owned both consoles at exactually the same time and they'll more than likely say SNES ;)

Yup. The SNES was the better console with the better games. FACT. The Megadrive wasn't bad, far from it, just not as great as the SNES.

And the Saturn was only better than the PS1 for 1 on 1 fighting games and a few other trinkets.

I know because I'm right. ;)

I had them both at the same time and even though I knew the SNES was better in terms of graphics and sound, I preferred to play the Mega Drive most of the time. This may have been down to the selection of games I had, but the only SNES game which really hooked me was Super Mario Kart.

Today though, through emulation, I would probably choose the SNES over the Mega Drive.

Also the Spectrum was better than the C64...

Come again? No no no :p.

I like both, but the c64 was obviously better imo. We had a speccy but the c64 was just clearly better in my eyes.

Brave fencer:Mushashi
Dragon warrior 7
Kartia:The world of fate
Saga frontier 1
Saga frontier 2
Final Fantasy Tactics
Alundra series
Suikoden two (I know its already been said but its the best)
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue

In terms of technicality the SNES was better than the Megadrive but somehow the Saturn was better than the Playstation. And the N64 and Playstation are on equal terms of hardware f*ck-ups.

n64 is one of my favorite all time consoles
but ps1 is alright

chrono cross should defenently be mentioned for the ps1's behalf
sequal to the best rpg on snes
it goo' like a brown dog

The SNES had more tricks up its sleeve, but the Megadrive was faster. Games like Sonic and Gunstar Heroes just wouldn't have been possible on the SNES (not unless they were heavily downsized, anyhow). So it's a close call with that one, but I guess the SNES just tops the MD.

But I don't know how on earth you can say that the Saturn was technically superior to the PS1. Care to explain?
