The Most Horrible Games Of All Time!

i think my top 2 worst games ever would have to be home alone 2 and shadowgate, both on the nes.
home alone 2 wasnt a bad game as such, but it was incredibly frustrating and made me take chunks out of the wall after chucking my controller at it.
shadowgate was, after elite, the most memorable game ive played because it was so bad (elite because it was so good). the music was mostly horribly out of tune and repetitive, the game was short, the puzzles were so incredibly illogical that you had to try every possible way to do it before you worked out how to actually tie the rope to the goddamn bucket.

further down in the list are c&c tiberian sun on the peecee (nice try, but so boring), a game called something like special ops for the ps2 (looked and played like it had been made during someones cig break), and goldeneye on the n64. i know thats a point of contention with many people, but i just could not play with those controllers and configs so thats why it gets low marks.

HAHAHAHAHA Spec Ops 2...try the Dreamcast version, more than ten minutes of that game will give you some form of cancer...it's really that bad.

Excellent thread!

Ducati World,Spirit of Speed, Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 all for Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast still has some of the best games out there, but those 3 are so bad it`s not even funny.

Any EA sports titles can join the list as well.

Hi-octane for sega saturn is a good pick:)
HAHAH! i had all 3 of those games bundled with my dreamcast, i remember your engine set on fire in Spirit of Speed if you went too fast. Dreamcast also had some of my favourite games ever, ie. Shenmue 1 + 2, Power Stone 1 + 2 (best fighting games ever!), Sonic Adventure.

That has to be the worst bundle of games to come with a console ever

I`m still playing games on my Dreamcast even after getting a PS2 and a Gamecube.
I pre-ordered under defeat for DC this week, check out the vids on the net it looks fantastic.

Worst movie to game conversion ever....WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP for the Jaguar.

biggest POC game i've ever seen or played. So bad i almost forgot all about it, sad thing is, i own 2 copies, both given to me, i guess i was stupid enough to accept them.

Battlespire. Daggerfall was the best single player RPG of all time, but they had to go and taint it's glory with a cheap sub-par sequel. At lest they got it right with Morrowind.

Oh, and I never liked doom either :p

The worse game ever has to be Hooligans:Storm Over Europe. Thought it might be funny marching an army of drunken football fans across the continent but in the end it was just shite.

Worse purchase I've ever made. Generally I'm quite good at buying good games but on the odd occassion you see a concept and buy even if you've heard bad things. Hooligans was one such purchase.

hmm, the worst game i ever bought on a whim. Boy. There's a couple that spring to mind, both for the Atari Jaguar. #1 being Checkerd Flag. Luckily enough i bought it at the end of the Jags life and got it for like $10. But this game is absolutely horrid not even worth .10cents, yes .10cents. #2 would be Towers II for the Jag. This was a very costly mistake. I bought it as soon as it was released. It was only released in EB, and the only EB stores that carried it were the EBs that sold the most Jag stuff in the country, luckily enough, i had one 30 mins away. I thought "OMG a real RPG for the Jag." Nope, instead I got a $60 piece of crap cart that sucks balls anyway you look at it. Probably the most horrible 1st person anything i've ever played.

These are some of the worst games ever imo (no particular order)

1. Pitfighter for the Mega Drive was bloody awful.
2. Arabian Nights: Prince of Persia for the Dreamcast, i despise that game.
3. Twisted Metal III for the playstation, never played the other games never want to, TM3 should be burnt along with it's developers and then urinated all over.
4. Darkstone for the PC, sorry but i hated it and all i wanted was a Diablo clone.

Thanks for reminding me, craigix : almost anything by 3DO.

Army Men, Army Men 2, Army Men: Sarge's Heroes, Army Men: Air Assault, Army Men: Play With Actual Plastic Soldiers For Chrissakes, Army Men: I'd Rather Have A Flatulent Dawn French Sit On My Face Than Play This Pile Of Shit.

3DO did good with heroes of might and magic series.

and to the guy who said most resident evil games - were the puzzles too hard for you?

Grand Theft Auto--3d games.
oooh, no plot--kill, kill, kill! Ohh hooker! Kill, kill--ooh, fast cars drive, drive, drive. Wait, this is pretty boring. We've all been there on the GTA games, however the new 3d ones seem to streamline the process of beating the game to death into the space of under an hour. Especially since controlling the main character is so little fun after the leap to 3d. Killing is almost a chore with that camera angle.

Tomb Raider--boobs, boobs, boobs, jump, boobs, boobs, swim, boobs, boobs... wait, I can't make her do anything useful except jump and swim. The maps are a memorization exercise for enemy locations and they want me to jump from platform to platform with a girl that thinks she's nimble but handles like a dumptruck? Spiderman could finish this game in 15 minutes.

I feel the same way about RE. Run to this end of the map, take the longest route back. Where's that noise comming from--better go check that out--oh, lookee there, pretty scary. Got to run back to the other end because I don't know where to go. Back and forth... Bored, bored, bored--scary--bored, bored.

RE games are not terrible games--not enough to be on this list, but they're still pretty bad. I will say that they've come a long way too. The interface and camera work on the gamecube ones was lightyears ahead of the saturn/psx games. There are just so many other, *better* survival horror games out there--they still have the exact same issues, but at least they haven't been beaten to death for 10 years worth of games and two movies--the first of which I liked.

Risk for my Mac Classic II. The damn game could at least show some dice rolling. The game just has me click on a nation and then I lose some armies. This one time i had like a 12 army vs a 2 army and the damn 2 army won! I'd like to see the dice rolls on that battle. Oh well its pretty fun in its B&W glory!

Risk is god in non-electronic form. Although you have to know more than 2 people in real life for it to be fun...

I can see that being made into a signature.

LOL yeah that game was terrible... it reminded me of streetwars except dumb and dull... the funny thing is that it was banned in germany hahaha

worst game I ever bought was probably trickstyle... man that game was just utter shit! Horrible handling and ugly pseudo-hip polygon characters. I just have to look at the game now and it makes me wanna cry with humiliation.
