i loaded my gp32 up with the following .tap files -

firelord
strange loop
jetpac
trashman
dan dare

then loaded up ZXGP32 gpspeccy and specl`K

couldnt get a single game to work!

if you can get hold of snapshots these are much easier to get to work.
They have the extensions .sna or .z80.

To get a .tap file to work you need to go to the virtual keyboard (in speccyalK you press select to do this) and type:

j
(then turn on symbol shift .. with the right shoulder button I think!)
p
p
ENTER

If you switch to 128 mode you can use the tape loader by just hitting enter - but some games don't like being loaded in 128k mode.

Yep - .tap files are literally a wav file of the original cassette tape (in low quality so they are small). This means that wehen you 'insert' a .tap file, you've got to do the above (which equates to LOAD "" ) to start the loading process, just as you would on a real speccy.
