Psp Vs. Ds

did you even look at the DS line up, and they're all in developement!

they're launch titles!

All Ninty has to do is play their advertising cards right and BAM! kerching, goodbye Sony!

but there are people who like a brand name and don't know specs(2.10 hours battery life for video!) and sony are excellent at the marketing.

i just saw an ad for a great deal for a nintendo colusseum pack for GC, it was so bland, if you want people to buy your stuff shout it out em with rock music, yeah!

*yawn*

SNES had a godlike library, (I still consider it to be the best system ever made) PSX launched with battle arena toshiden, Jumping flash, war hawk, and a few other lackluster titles...

Guess who won?

Now PSP is gonna have portable armored core, Devil may cry, dynasty warriors, GT4... And a lot of them are most likely launch games...

So don't be smug.

Not saying the same thing will happen, but it's lame mis-informed posts like this that annoy me... Look at my sig, my words exactly.

Edit: if one more person says it's 2.5 hours of battery life (When the press confo clearly states 10, period. For ANYTHING.) I'm gonna throw my SMC ninja star style into their eye.

the snes was released in japan in 1990, the psx was released in 1995, you see that big gap there is five years where the snes sold double the amount of games the mega drive did. it could never compete with the psx it was five years old.

TOur guess is that the way to read this is that anything read off static media like memory sticks will be close to the 10 hours, while spinning the proprietary UMD discs will bring the capacity down to about 2 hours.

robojoe do you enjoying being wrong or is it just a habit.

whichever of the two gets final fantasy game is mine :3

anyway: we can't know yet which system is better, we haven't even played them -_-; I thought ppl that owned a GP32 knew better... =/

well ill be getting none of them if the game prices are anything like the ps2's, i mean i cant afford that for a handheld, now if it was cracked........

we want FFX! or even FFXI with the wireless network thingy. do you think they should use it so like you could save info from your ps2 or ps3 games and use that info in psp games? such as cars in GT4 and the like?

did any of you even go to the website?

it say that a FF crystal chronicles type job id in development for th ds.
I don't really see CC as a real final fantasy, even though it's really great. I'm talking a final fantasy like the old days, well actually all final fantasy-games up to number X (which I haven't played as I don't own a ps2 :))

basically: GIMME FFX SQUARE BASTARDS!

Yeah, the reason the PSX beat the SNES is coz they are 2 seperate generations, they werent released at the same time (nearly 4 years apart) the reason it beat was coz one was 3D the other was 2D, that was a completely irrelevant post really, since both of theses new consoles have 3D hardware, and are pretty similar

I'll explaiin the console wars:
NES vs MS
SNES vs Megadrive
Playstation vs. N64 (and later DC)
PS2 vs GC vs XBOX

its quite simple, thats like saying the N64 beat the Megadrive in the conole wars

just looked at ure sig. ask most people on here and I guarantee u they will say that Mario/Metroid beats Devil May Crys arse hans down (it wasnt even a good game) and theres no arguing that GTA is a good game, but its running out of ideas, GTA 3 and GTAVC werent all that different, people will tire of it like they did with the 1st 2

Nintendo DS!!!

This is the most intriguing console ive seen since... ... ... ...this is the most intriguing console i've ever seen.

(not including gp32 ;) )

PSP is impressively powerful but the batteries are an issue. The lynx was an insanely powerful handheld with great games too, but flopped because of it's bulkiness and crap battery life.

Powerful technology (much more powerful than has been available) has always been there for handhelds, it's just always been a drain on batteries. Nintendo has always waited until it can get enough battery life out of it's gameboy series to make it worth while.

I predict that sony fanboys and spoilt kids will all buy the expensive PSP at launch, only to get bored of their new toy after a while. The DS will stick around longer

[edit] And I'm afraid that Sony did not give a straight answer about battery life, hence all the fuss about it now.

There are a *lot* of other good titles for the ps2 though. And a lot coming up. As well as the amazing ps1 library, which, im my opinion rivals the snes's killer games.

*Waits patiently to be flamed*.

I think thats why the GB suceeded against the Gamegear, event tho when the GB came out Ninty coulve made it olour, they refused to coz of battery life, and it seems to have served them well
