Zodiac Vs Gpx2

find it. :p

i asked cause i see they have a psx emu, so .............

Yeah but that PSX emu is slow, has no sound and runs only a few games. The GP2X is a bit more powerful as it has two ARM cores at 200 MHz and the Zodiac has one 200 MHz ARM but the GP2X is still not powerful enough to make it run full speed.

Forget PSX. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up over PSX so much ;)

yeah, your most likely right, but the idea of playing ff7 gets me wet. thats right, i went there.

Its not going to happen, so just watch some porn instead :p FF7 is like 2Gb of data for a start... its 3 CD's remember! even if we get a rough slow PSX emulator, it's not going to handle all the 3D well, which FF7 is entirely 3D...

end of the day, chances of seeing FF7 playable on the GP2X are pretty damn slim!

Well, a *krhm* torrent for FF7 is about 1.3GB...

And it's not like you need all 3 disks at the same time...

Also, some of the greatest minds of the 21'st century are coding stuff for GP2X... I'd say, the chances of me playing FF7 on my GP2X are better than you think...

Why is it, that "chances are slim", but then there's "a fat chance"?

hmm was FF7 really entirely 3D? i could be wrong, but i thought it would be that only the characters were 3D and the battles but while walking arround the background was a picture. That would be the same way as ResidentEvil, and that is running a 10Fps right now on the zodiac. i would say this could get fullspeed on the gp2x without sound for sure.

Sounds to me like you'd be as well dropping the emulation entirely and just making a FFVII alike game.

I mean, c'mon, surely everyone who wants to has finished Final Fantasy VII already anyway.

FF7?
Pah, commoners.
Suikoden 2 is the true king of playstation RPGs.

I remember talk a while back on another forum of a fan project to remake Suikoden 1 with Suikoden 2 graphics for the GBA...Wonder how it panned out...I bet it got nowhere but would be nifty for the GP2X.

Thats all bollocks - I have FF7 running on my 200mhz PocketPC running at about 25fps (more than exceptable) with a file size of just under 200meg - obviously without the movies

As for the whole 3d thing - 2d PSX games run just as well/badly since as the psx doesnt have any actual 2d modes it uses its 3d screen modes to emulate a 2d field so theres no difference proccesor wise
