Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies are classics for good reason. They had to ruin it by trying to make it into a sitcom, though, with Bugs Bunny being some strange responsible asshat. Daffy Duck is a little better, but not much, and only because his slacker lifestyle and mooching off of Bugs gives him chances to be, uh, daffy. Captain Planet was really great. Rocko and My Pet Monster (I had one) as well as others I have mentioned, are good.Looney Tunes + Merry Melodies, Captain Planet, Rockos Modern Life, Tintin, Angry Beavers, My Pet Monster, Madeline, Pingu, Spongebob, Darkwing Duck, Little Lulu, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats and Buzzy the Crow to name a few.
yesren & stimpy.
Another one I forgot. Some time in the last couple years I was looking at stuff related to it and found out there is still a strong community for this show. A couple weeks ago I saw a girl (late teens, maybe early 20s) wearing jewelry with the symbol on it. She seemed a bit too young to have been into it, but what do I know. She definitely didn't seem the type of person who would have an interest in it, though. I considered asking her but didn't feel like embarrassing the people I was with.ReBoot was also one of my favourites, but definitely geared for an older audience and the CGI may not have held up nearly as well in my head as in real life.
I looked for videos of this several years back. Back when this originally aired I was the only kid in my neighborhood who liked this show. Odd, since other similar shows were so well loved.Exo-Squad
Agreed. I haven't seen it in a long time, but it was pretty good from what I remember.
I knew the show, but I had to look it up to remember what was so odd about him. I liked this one a lot too.Lot of classics in this thread.. here's another one I liked as a kid, Eek! the Cat.
Many are available through various video services. Try YouTube. As for the newer stuff, some may be available over there. Check your Cartoon Network family of channels. Some of the cartoons mentioned in these threads are either too recent, never made it over to here or were perhaps on cable/sat so passed me by.
I'm a little old to start watching those things now, methinks. Besides, I just don't have the time nowadays. Many are available through various video services. Try YouTube. Bah, I thought I was too old too. Some of the shows, such as Regular Show, are obviously made for an older crowd, but with stuff that keeps kids and teenagers entertained. I understand not having time. Typically I don't actually watch what I have on the television, but I do look up if the story sounds good enough.I'm a little old to start watching those things now, methinks. Stingray was the other one, which I used to watch too, preferred it over Thunderbirdsnot strictly cartoons but how about Thunderbirds? Captain Scarlet? there were some others i cant remember..
magic roundabout... lol
In the same vein, the entire output of 'Smallfilms' deserves a mention -Has anyone mentioned The Wombles or Paddington yet? If not - why not?
Not cell animation like a typical cartoon, but it is stop-motion. And some have mentioned puppet programmes.
Shaun the Sheep is my favourite.if we are talking stop motion then all hail the king.. Wallace and Grommet or almost anything Aardman have done.
