Hey again, second help topic today, I fail.

So anyway, last week I moved my linux partition to behind some free space and grew it an extra 7GB, since then xubuntu has been taking more than double the time it did before to boot.

If i turn the xubuntu loading screen on it freezes for a while and then goes to text mode and continues...

Any ideas as to why?

I've always been told that if your having multiple OS's on the same HDD but on different partitions then it's best for them to be within the first 5-10% of the HDD space. Perhaps the MBR (Master Boot Record - First sector on a HDD) is expecting the bootable files for Xubuntu in a certain area/sector but cannot locate in that region so then it starts to scan the rest of the HDD to see if it's still available thus taking longer to load.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I've always stuck to this way of partitioning HDD's and they all work great with good loading times.
