Wow Those Are Some Powerful Laser Pointers

DCGM, there is one major failure with your logic:

Does the avergae human blink FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF LIGHT?

Well, DO THEY?
What the hell are you talking about. I never said the light wouldnt reach your eyes dumbass, I said it wouldnt remain there long enough to burn the retina ;)

Sam: It's pointless to keep arguing about this because neither one of us can prove it. And neither of us is willing to try it I reckon

In sams's mind if he thought that he is the most intelligent person alive and that pigs could fly, nothing anyone said could change his mind.

I went to the site, and looked at one of the videos for the 'real lasersaber'.

Gay. Very² gay.

No, read some reviews about them.

with a FIVE MILLIWATT LASER, you're reflex is too fast.

a ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY, MILLIWATT laser will burn your retinal cells in about .03 or so seconds.
no sam, you're wrong. those are qualified to cut through black tape. Have you seen the video? it takes like 12 seconds to slice through the tape completely. you blink right away.

you fail.

Well you have to remember that your retina is not a piece of thick vinyl tape. It is a delicate structure with cells that are VERY SENSITIVE to light. They have to be or you couldn't see anything in low light. There is a post in the forum somewhere that tells the power of the laser. It does say that a 150 mW laser will damage your retina faster than the blink response.

You just have to be careful and not do something dumb. DON'T LOOK INTO THE BEAM  You wouldn't look into the barrel of a loaded gun and pull the trigger right? You can't get eye damage from the 150 mW laser reflecting off of a wall though. As soon as the laser reflects off of a surface (although not as much with a mirror) it looses energy.

Fair enough, but no one's thinking of distance. It will damage your retina- at what distance? Obviously it will rip your eyeball up if you're a centimeter away, but what about 20 feet? This is very important.

You would most likely damage your eye at 20 feet too. The light of a laser is pretty collimated. If you can pop balloons (melt rubber) at 15-20 feet you can probably damage an eye.

It takes about 2-3 seconds to pop a balloon at that distance, correct? What's the exact time it takes to blink, a few milliseconds? I dont know......

Plus you'd have to hit the eye directly with a perfectly still hand (and still target) to nail it without touching the bridge of the nose, eyebrow, or any of the surrounding area.

Like you said, you'd have to be a real immature ass to do damage to someone. But im sure there are people out there who aim at people's faces because they think it's funny. What can you do <_<

Yeah but again melting rubber or damaging retina cells are two different things.

You only have to have the beam hit the eye for a few milliseconds. You could basically sweep across the eye slowly and cause damage.

You just have to watch what you are doing that is all.

I got one that comes with 42 different tops with various shapes (bio symbol, xmas tree, etc)

The target sign cap is my fav. People think they're being shot at LOLLLLL

Around 2 months ago, I was fucking with people's heads from my house window. Now usually, I'm pretty quick to react so that i don't get caught....but this time, I wasnt fast enough, and the guy looked STRAIGHT AT ME from all the way down the block, and screamed "you fucker, im calling the cops on you!"

And thus, I shit bricks :(

Still do it though

Meh, i know I am right. And I believe I am right upto 50 feet away no less, however, further you could probably blink in time.
