Wow Those Are Some Powerful Laser Pointers

Plus the fact that our society (around my town at least) generally uses more red materials than green materials, so green makes for more

BURN THEM!
BURN THEM ALL!

Fun all round!

You fail at sociological observations.

right im goin to buy one. Whats the best one ?

The best is the 300 mW Spyder. The most power for the price is the 150 mW red Pulsar.

You would have to be super careful with that kind of power though. It is a good thing that they are expensive. It keeps the kiddies from getting a hold of one. You can burn a retina in milliseconds. It should be treated with the same respect that you would a loaded gun. Never point it at anyone, even as a joke. These are serious real lasers, and not toys.

You can burn red stuff with a red laser and so on. But it´s not as efective, becase the material would reflect more of the light than otherwise.
They'd reflect way too much, thats why wearing a red filter makes red laser safe to use, ,I think.

For filters the opposite color works best. If you have a filter that only lets green light in (it appears green) it is good for red lasers.

seriously though, who needs a 300mW laser pointer? Like you said, that's serious power. I wouldnt want to be responsible if someone got permanently injured from it.

I think the red pulsar is pretty nice. No one really needs double that power.

isn't the legal limit like a third of 150?

probably. As much as I want one (men + firepower ), I cant justify the price and risk involved.

Im sure when i have some money burning a hole in my pocket I'll get bored and buy a laser to take it's job

I know people who think BB guns are pretty nice too, but keep a loaded Colt .45 in their bedside dresser just incase.

Sort of off-topic: Do you think these things would be a good anti-burgler thing, better than a gun? Instead of shooting a robber/murderer/etc, you just flash a 300mw laser across their eyes...

lol, I imagine that if there's an intruder in your home, you wouldnt reach for your laser pointer, but rather something more serious, possibly a knife (if you dont have a gun)

You´d have to hit them first. Take a normal Laserpointer and try hitting a moving target the size of an eye from 15m. Not easy.

ive orderd the 150 pulsar one. when i gget it i will make some videos of it <_< maybe try to make them a bit gp2x/32ish :D. i dont have any goggles tho  But i did here that its only a small chance that the lasers could actually harm your eye as your eye will blink fast enough as soon as its pointed at your eye. If i like this one i will get a green one too haha

Nope, a 150mw laser will burn your retina faster than your musce groups will react. Hell, faster than the .1 second required for nerve impulse transport!
no sam, you're incorrect. I know it's difficult for you to understand that, seeing as you need to be right all the time.

Your eye will blink within the millisecond that the beam hits it. It even says that on their site somewhere, dont remember exactly where though.

No, read some reviews about them.

with a FIVE MILLIWATT LASER, you're reflex is too fast.

a ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY, MILLIWATT laser will burn your retinal cells in about .03 or so seconds.

no sam, you're wrong. those are qualified to cut through black tape. Have you seen the video? it takes like 12 seconds to slice through the tape completely. you blink right away.

you fail.

No, 150 MW lasers have what I said. I found a site and they did the physical calculations. Now, when you know those and you do it, come back. There is a reason 5mw is the legal limit. You can't blink fast enough to avoid retanal damage with these lasers assuming it was pointed directly into your eye.
