Not sure if this has been asked before, but that could be another use for the Pandora - for example when maintaining book collections at home or DVD collections and so on, a quick scan would work to register items in a pretty fast way, and then you could edit the infor yourself with the keyboard if needed (more practical than on a phone).

Plus, there are numerous open-source book-dvd-cd collection software available nowadays, that could work well once paired with a bar code reader.

ANy idea whether this is technically feasible ?

Yeah I don't see why not, Most barcode reader act as a keyboard device they don't require any extra software and they have USB ones.

quick like a

Most (PC) barcode readers are just "keyboards". They attach as regular keyboards and a scan is equivalent to typing the appropriate numbers and letters of the barcode. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

edit: gah, ninja'd again!

Maybe post a link if you have a working one.

Would be nice to have one, too.

:)

most of them work as mentioned as a USB keyboard, the only possible problem might be the power requirement, but if you use a powered usb hub...

Yes they do. I've used one, you just need the USB hub :)

No power was required

Oh, I did not know they were recognized as keyboard devices!

Now the only thing we miss is a port of a Collection software :)
