Wine 1.6RC1 Slackware 14 + newer Video + Download

I have done some experiment on this before (as you can see see in the thread). But my QEMU was mainly segfaulting on everything... I'll refresh my QEMU build when I have time to play again with that.

Hey exactly on this Thread orientate i me ^_^

This is what i want to make, but first the newer Qemu Version finish ;)
Ok, nothing new then ^_^ .

I just was searching the wine forums and fount this thread.

Just in case you didn't know it.

BTW: Are there any Win8 programs for ARM which might run well on Pandora?

Already any news about those Windows ARM programs?#

EDIT:

You may try 1.6.

The first RC is officially out today.

Hope it finds it's way in the arch repo soon so that I can try it.

Ok i will try that and in the Past searched i a way to ge "Windows-Mobile" Running on Qemu but found no good Tutorial/Howto.

When we can execute Windows Mobile Games ist that not bad too because finaly

Age of Empires more playable with Touchscreen would be Fine ^_^

Wohoo just a Idea:

Why not try to Compile Wine for Arm and then try to run "Windows Mobile" Software without Qemu?

Have anyone tried that?

I Compile now the newest RC from Wine ;)

I've never had time for that... But it seems it works for only a few of the software. Maybe this is improving fast?

When it finished to compile and installed, will i try Age of Empires PocketPC Arm Demo ;)

Windows Mobile != Windows. Wine for ARM is designed to run wine-lib applications: that is, applications that were x86 Windows recompiled with winelib. If they are Windows apps and you have the source, you can recompile them with winelib and the output will be an x86 Linux executable. Similarly if you recompile them with Wine for ARM winelib in an ARM environment (or with a crosscompiler) the output will be a Linux ARM executable.

Wine for ARM will not run Windows Mobile applications, they are two completely different things that share only passing similarities.

Was just a Idea :)
I will try it with simple Apps, but i think it work not too.
Now i must wait looooong.
Qemu 1.5.50 and Wine 1.6RC1 are both compiling on my Pandora :)
I am out with my black Cat on the Line..

KITTY!

My cat used to love going for walks, then one day he just didn't want to go. Flopped down outside and just laid there. :(

Perfectly happy to run away and climb a tree if you he gets out without his leash though, the little jerk.

I know what you mean...
..but hey i dont knew that i can share Photos with Tapatalk here :)

Was just a Test.
Now he is tired and stay there :)

But enough Photos now,i will report when its compiled finish and make then a Backup.
Maybe it work to change the Wine Arm Binary into Wine X86 Binary to get Windows X86 Binaries with Qemu working.
But first Backup,then changing binaries.
Wish me luck :)

Omg my Pandora is so hard working.
Compiling 2 big Things at the same Time :)
That takes many Time.
Want anyone to play with me a round Descent3 online? :D

You're probably swapping like a mofo. :p

Going to take even longer! One thing at a time, stop swapping.

Thats right, thats ever a Problem for me

We Germans say : From "Arschbacken" to "Kuchenbacken" for that.

But i try to use more Time for this Project from now on

News News News News:

All compiled fine under Slackware and here a Video with Wine ARM on the Pandora with Qemu 1.5.50

And i made installable Files for Slackware with this Howto:

#645 [slackware for Pandora 14.0: post #645]

But this is only a secont Step, next Step is that i try to change the Arm compiled Binaries from Wine into

the X86 Binaries and run them with qemu-system-i386 on Slackware.

In the Moment runs it only Windows ARM Binaries(Windows CE Apps should i test) ;)

When this work have we soon real Windows Applications working with Qemu.

Here a Video with Wine 1.6RC1 and Qemu 1.5.50

Qemu 1.5.50

http://qemu.openpandora.org/PandoraOperatingSystems/SlackwareFiles/Slackware-14-ARM-Qemu-1.5.5.tgz

Thx ;)

But this is only Wine Arm compiled, the X86 Version will be slower in the Future(when i got it working)

Linux Swat, can you please Compile a newer Version of OSS and Alsa for Slackware 14?

I tried it but ever failed to compile newer OSS and Alsa.

With a newer Version of OSS + ALSA have we additional Sound Support, because Wine need newer Version from them.

Did you checked -current's versions ?

alsa lib 1.0.27

alsa oss 1.0.25

I checked it,here is installed

Alsa 1.0.26

Alsa-OSS 1.0.25

OSS Version not found.

And Wine recomment me after ./configuring to install OSSV4

It writes:

OSS Sound System found but too old (OSSV4 needed).

OSS wont be supported.
Then have we no real Sound Support

Have tried OSSV4 to find and compile but ever failed :(
