I just wonder which website sells better gp32. It seems to me that gbax.com sells the gp32 blu with only 166 mhz, wherea lik-sang sells its gp32 with only or with estimation, up to 166 mhz, which you have to overclock it yourself. And recently I have also found out another website, which is www.play-asia.com. There you can find the gp32(I am not really sure if I am correct) with 2.4 GHz. However, I do not really know if it is BLU or not. So what you guys recommend?

What the hell are you talking about all gp32's are the same the only real difference is the light which is flu, blu, or non lit. As for the differences in clock speed gbax sells a version that will run at 166hz for sure although I'm not sure if that is a voltage mod or if it has just been tested at that speed.

2.4 GHz is probably for the wireless RF link accessory. The GP32 itself goes up to 166 even higher sometimes. The only thing you can count on out of the box for sure is 133, but many go higher, it is luck. If you are handy with a soldering iron you can make yours go to 166 or more by replacing two resistors.

You would want a BLU because it is backlit like a PDA. The FLU has washed out colors like a GBA SP.

New BLU's have the BLU+ issues. Look it up. Certain software doesn't work on the new BLU's that we call BLU+'s. It is being worked on though. Play-Asia doesn't have them in stock anymore. Lik-Sang has Nonlit, Frontlit, and Backlit versions. Gbax has Backlit, and 166mhz gauranteed Backlit versions.

I'm sorry to say but it looks like lik-sang is now out of all but the non-lit version and playasia dosn't have any at all. I guess that leaves you with gbax or some other online store or ebay. I have heard great things about gbax but as stated above if you live in the states it is really expensive due to the exchange rate. If you live in the UK you should buy one from them for sure.

Well, actually I live in US, but I don't see any stores sell Gp32, which is very sad. Anyway, thanks for DaveC for solving that problem GHz for me as well as all of you.

P.S what is the difference between NEW BLU+ AND BLU. what does it have in the NEW BLU+?

It has a crappy screen which causes problems with most software. They should really refer to it as a blu- because the + is kind of misleading and gives the impression that it is better in some way.

The screen isn't crappy, it looks basically the same, it is just that it isn't compatible with some stuff and you can get a line on it. But most emus are being updated so it won't be a big deal in the future.

Where can I get the new BLU or BLU+?

Anyway, I am looking for a US website that sell game park 32 blu with 166mhz. I just don't wanna buy it from UK gbax cuz that costs a arm and leg. Besides, it is very complicated procedure that you have to deal with when you register for your account. Lik-sang and Yes-asia are the only website I know, but they are all sold out of their console handhelds. In addition, the speed is just about up to 166mhz and it doesn't really guarantee that it is exactly 166mhz or higher. Anyway, if anybody does know any US online shop, please inform me. I'd appreciate it.

Jr2swiss:
He used to sell GP32 blu with or without 166hmz. Is his website down or something. It is said that he doesn't sell any more GP32 blu.

DONT worry much about the + in BLU+... most of the software that had the compatibility issue has already been 'fixed' in newer versions, all the good emulators are already working fine on BLU+, and new stuff getting released most is now including an option for BLU+ as well.

I would say don't buy from GBAX if you are in the US as the dollar is worthless over there now and you will pay a LOT more thru the exchange rate then if you bought from Lik Sang.

If lik sang is all sold out here is the website I ordered mine from, they do the same deal as lik sang (blu +, free game and RF module) for about the same price (well a little bit more at $190).

Anyways here is the link:

http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/aitrad.htm

and click on handheld console section on the left.

This place was very cool, responded to every email I sent them and got the GP to me fast after I ordered, in like 3 or 4 days now I forget. I recommend them 100% and would not hesitate to buy from them again. They are much less known than Lik Sang and should have GP's in stock. It will be BLU + but don't worry as I said... you wont be missing much.

well, sorry for being so picky about the GP32 blu. Are all those GP32 Blu exactly 166mhz or could be up to 166mhz. I heard somebody said some of the games won't work on those GP32 that are less or under the speed of 166mhz.

Anyway thanks for the websites.

All actual games work at 133 or less. Some of the emus like DrMD would be a little choppy at 133, but they still work. Remember you can always change two resistors to get 166 anyway so it is not like you would be stuck with it that way.

My BLU + out of the box will overclock all the way to 164mhz in DrMD stable for long periods, hasn't locked up on me yet. But it will lock up at 166. Most BLU's on average, will at LEAST clock to 156mhz... which is enough to run all games and most emu's at a good speed. I haven't missed the ability to run 166mhz yet... but of course for intensive emu's like DrMD and Osnes9x, the more speed you can run the better, as games on them will run better and better the faster you can get.

Don't you mean everything will work at 133 mhz? There wouldn't be any locking-up? Anyway, is gbax the ONLY website that sells gp32 blu of 166mhz? I am looking for the gp32 blu sold in the U.S.A.

well, it is kinda risky if you do not know how to change those resistors especially if u know nothing about it. I am a newbie, and I am just afraid that if I change the resistor on my own, there would be a risk to damage the Gp32.

Well, it just says gp32 with back light. it doesn't include anything such as Blu or Blue+. So is it the flu one or just the normal one that isn't named as BLU or BLU+?

I bought one from them, it was a BLU +, the company is based in Korea... there is no company in the US that I know of that sells the GP32 at all. And don't worry about changing the resistors to overclock... a BLU that won't overclock to at least 156mhz is VERY rare, and if you can run 156mhz stable, you're fine.
