What would the world and his dog think if P2 used an x86 SOC? (but not mini SD) ;)

I mentioned all these point and got continually shot down.
I've had it with reading this from you.

I entertained your posts over and over again with lengthy technical discussions, which you often gave a one-liner dismissal towards. Now you're whining that you're the one who was continually shot down. Maybe people got sick of hearing you go on about AMD SoCs over and over again. I never once shot you down without attempting to make a coherent argument, and it always came down to the same show stoppers.

Now that people are seriously looking at a solution with much better perf/W than the one you wanted, but still giving you the advantages YOU cared about, you could be happy that there's a stronger chance of getting what you want. But all you're doing is whining that no one listens to you.

Grow up.

We'd very likely loose battery life and efficiency too.

There's also the risk that it would be unable to run continuously at full clock due to overheating :(
Well, that's something we don't know yet.
I don't suppose you'd be interested in talking to Intel to find out?

Unfortunately I don't have anyone for you to contact.  Maybe one of these guys? (found via a simple Google search)

When I think of an x86 Pandora I'm always reminded of this thing:

Now, this product never even came to fruition, and probably for good reason since Oak Trail would have been pretty lousy for this. But it does show maybe there's some prospect for a lowish volume Intel SoC device. For what it's worth, this company is Korean.

Speaking of Korean companies making crazy X86 handhelds...

This one always fascinated me.  Wild design - http://www.pocketables.com/2006/11/samsung_sphp900-2.html

Well, the datasheets for the SoC are already available to the public (so NO NDA as with most other manufacturers).

Official distributors are AvNet and Mouser.

I've got a good contact to AvNet and sent a mail about the availability of the SoC.

If Intel sells it without NDA, permissions, etc., simply through normal distributor channels, then it's way easier to get than any other ARM SoC... which would be a huge advantage for us.

Let's see what we'll get.

I have a bunch of resistors, capacitors and transistors here at home, i can build a custom SoC if needed.

It was a joke Exo, sorry to bother you. I remember the sd discussion, just could not resist chip in Linux-swat style.

As a non-low-level coder, there isen´t much I can contribute to this discussion.

My primary point into a mobile computer pandora style, would be the availability on creative tools on the artistic level, drawing, animation, 3d, music, etc.

Some of those the pandora can already handle, like gimp for example.

I have an android and am quite disappointed on the market for such tools. The note II costed quite a lot and I found very little I could use that style yet.

I could invest time (1yr) to create my own tools and release it. Would be hard to afford the time and I simply can´t do stuff sound/music related.

I´d say the current discussion is quite valid, but on my end, whatever I release is not much dependent on those choices.

Again, sorry to bother.

I assume this is a joke, but the SoC doesn't care if the SD is mini, micro, or full.
Exo you are ever so serious.

That sounds like a decent business case. How about we start a PanDIY project? Instead of the fully assembled umpc, we send people all the components. This gonna attract so many potential customers.

I knew it, but it doesn't hurt to answer a joke, who cares if you make yourself look silly in the process :D

You didn´t. I don´t know much about all this stuff but I read it trying to learn all I can. There is a lot of info shared by you around here, and I just learned that SDs has no compromise on soc choice.

But you won't get paid though.  It's a service to the community OK?

Aren't you the same person that said that last time? Why do you think I want to get payed?
