The area that most(not all) would agree that the GP32 stood out was its ability to emulate a large number of machines. It did have homebrew games for it, and you could watch movies albeit a bit faffy.
But developing/porting games from Linux has become a whole lot easier/practical with SDL+Linux combo, and its attracting people who are familier with linux.
Media playing is clearly a strong on this device with its Media capablities built into the CPU, and GPH are putting a lot of time and effort into this.
I think the GP2X is a better all arounder and its clear emulation is not the mainstay it once was.
