What Classic Games On Cd Rom Do You Still Own For Pandora?

I also have Deus Ex and , but I don't think they can be ported. I've got a bunch of Tomb Raider games too, like The Last Revelation and Lost Artefact :p Makes me wanna play through all my old PC games again.
As long as they are DOS games they should work, I think, Dos Box is pretty much 100%.
Woah there, you might be raising peoples expectations a little too far. The most recent DOSBox videos from Pickle are here: http://pandorapress.net/2009/08/10/dosbox-dosbox-dosbox/

Related thread: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/49010-anyone-for-dosbox

The meatier games on display there are Blake Stone and Dark Forces (the latter without sound). Check out the release dates and system requirements of those games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake_Stone:_Aliens_of_Gold
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Forces

Compare them to some of the other games being mentioned in this thread:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Shock_2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDK_(video_game)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex

There may still be room for DOSBox improvement, but late 90s games are pretty much off the table.
Oops, I didn't even know DOS went to the late 90's, looking at MDK it was published in '97, so I guess DOS had a long life. There is videos of Warcraft II running on the n800 though, so I'm optimistic. Most good DOS games are pre mid 90's though, and then a lot of the late 90's games run on PS1 so that kinda doubles the chances or it running on the Pandora, or I hope so anyway.

So maybe I should change the topic to early DOS games?

Quake 2, Raptor: Call of shadows, first two Elder Scrolls games, original Prince of Persia games (i had them for Mac), Marathon through Aleph One, perhaps the BG games just to make my friend jealous :p, Warcraft 2, and any other game that has some open source port/engine that can run on it

Warcraft 2 won't be a problem. :) http://www.codejedi.com/cgi-bin/blog.cgi/entertainment/gaming/pandora/20081221wc2dosbox.blog (that's Skeezix). It's a very old post, but the title still fits. ^_^

Ooh, I just remembered another one. :p Freespace 2 - though I bought it from GOG.com, not on a CD-ROM.

Also M-HT did a static recompilation (of Warcraft II) for the GP2X that should work on the Pandora maybe sorta kinda, and better than the DosBox version if it works at all.

Ah yes, the freespace games
Should hopefully run ok with the nubs, i always found it a bit tiresome to slide my mouse all over my desk just to continually turn around

Dark Forces is indeed a DOS game - the sequel, however (Dark Forces II : Jedi Knight) was a Windows game. The original X-Wing and TIE-fighter are DOS also, and are sitting here (along with updated copies for my desktop).

Earth Worm Jim I have as a Windows CD, so I recently bought the DOSBox version as a bundle (EWJ 1 + 2 and EWJ 3D) from GOG.COM.

The original Tomb Raider was also a DOS program which I've got working nicely with a CD-ROM image under DOSBox in preperation for trying out. Tomb Raider 2 and onwards for the PC are, alas, Windows programs again :(

Rebel Assault, Rebel Assault II, Quake I, they're all DOS and all on CD here. As are the Elvira adventures and original Simon The Sorcerer (again, STS 2 and onwards appear to be Windows only).

GODS from the Bitmap Brothers (along with Xenon II, Magic Pockets and so on) are DOS too and DOSBox compatible.

Prince of Persia 1 and 2 are on CD here, but Zeliard is actually on 3.5" floppies.

I STILL haven't found the 3.5" floppy versions of any of my Lemmings games, but I haven't been searching hard either. I've had other priorities, and I haven't felt that there is a serious risk of my needing them URGENTLY (it's not like my Pandora is going to arrive next week, after all).

I have a CD collection of "Aces" games from Sierra - the submarine one is Windows but the others (Red Bardon, Aces of the PAcific, Aces over Europe, A-10 Tank Killer) are all DOS and all setup under DOSBox on my PC since ordering the Pandora.

There are a few others - notably some Aliens games - that I haven't got working yet, but again I'm in no real hurry. There's plenty to keep me busy already should Pandora arrive, and time enough to root around for more games and set them up. It's a pity how many of the DOSBox games seem to be at or over the edge that the Pandora seems capable of reaching using DOSBox, but there's always Pandora II! :D

Hexen. Loved that back in the day. The smaller screen ought to make it look better too, being all Doom-engined blocky as it is.

Earthworm Jim for sure, The Netherhood if possible, and G-Police would just be tops for me.

What were these like on the PC? I used to love the Amiga versions. Except my brother always used to keep beating my high scores :(

Some which I have bought back in the days

red alert 1 (now you can DL it for free on the Off. page I believe)
transport tycoon (& deluxe) - graphic can be used for Openttd
Space quest 6
Theme park
Z: the bitmap brothers
The dig - runs under ScumVM
Duke nukem 3d
Toal annhilihation
Screamer 2 (racing game)
Sim city 2000

Also have some other lucasart title somewhere.

Not to mention I have a pile of cd from when I was buying gaming magazine. At one point they used include a full game (old game for the time) beside all the demos.

Very similar. VGA graphics looked better than the ECS, never saw AGA. In fact prolly easier to get the Amiga versions going than PC now you mention it :/

GTA, Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Jazz Jackrabbit, and a whole bunch of Sidescrollers on floppy disks.
I really hope the Dosbox port for the Pandora can handle a lot!

For what it's worth: many of the mentioned games were also made for the consoles. Like Earthworm Jim, Star Craft 64, Warcraft 2, Duke Nukem, C&C. (I agree most of the console versions are inferior, and the PSX/N64 emulators may never be full speed.. but still..)

Psx is already full speed and its likely that many games for N64 will be as well.
