I'm getting together all my DOS games to put on my Pandora. Right now I only have found Warcraft 1&2 with the Beyond the Dark Portal expansion and I also have Baldur's Gate 1&2 for GemRB. I have the BG2 expansion, but not BG1's Tales of the Sword Coast.

I have Dark Forces also, I'm almost sure it's a DOS game but we had Win 95 when I played it, so I'm not sure.

I have a lot more DOS games that I don't even remember, I need to look up their Mobygames page to even remember them.

So what classic CDROM games do you own from yesteryear that you want to put on your Pandora?

only one id really want to run is starcraft, any idea if that would run on the pandora? with dosbox or qemu, since i know wine doesnt apply.

Starcraft is a no go, unless you find an interpreter for it. Just did a quick search on google, found Stargus. You should look into that, I think I remember hearing about it but that might be the only way to get Starcraft running on your Pandora.

I just found my old Dark Sun Shattered Lands floppies, and I don't have any floppy drives anymore, crap.

Homeworld, entire Baldur's gate series and quite a few others, but I forgot which ones will be possible to port.

BG will be playable through GemRB, which already is running on beagle board setups, so someone that really like BG games will get it running. Did you think the expansion for BG1 was worth getting? I'm not sure I want to get it though ebay or not.

Home World, heard of it, but haven't played it or own it.

Really looking forward for doing mobile...
System shock 1,
ultima underworld 2,
BG1, 2 and expansions (and once GemRB supports full PS torment, that one too),
Krynn series, pool of ..., eye of the beholder for the amiga emu.
Got enough to do once Panda arrives!

I´ll hope Stonekeep works on DOS Box on Pandora, I loved this game the time back.
MDK would be awesome (it even is declared abandonware and free for download), but I guess this exceeds the Limits of the Pandora.
SO my list consists of:
-Dungeon Keeper (possible?)
-Stonekeep
-MDK
-Earth Worm Jim (possible?)
-Battlecruiser (possible?)
-Normality
-Old settlers II (Which could be played a lot nicer on the Pandora than on the DS)
-Baldurs Gate (without expansion)
-Warcraft II (without expansion)
-Some PS One games (FF7 on pandora, here I come!)
-Heroes of Might and Magic I&II
-G-Nome (possible?)
-Lots of Adventure games that are supported by ScummVM
-Maybe the Gamemaker 2000 IDE (but running Programs directly under DOSBOX in this enviroment itself will be impossible, but making sprites and such things should work, then I could fire up Notepad++ and test it under Bennu)
-Master of Orion II (Edited, I forgot, shame on me)

Earthworm jim is shown running on an emulator on the tv out demo for pandora :)

I dont know, is theire an open Interpreter for this?
When MDK works under DOSBOX, then G-Nome, Battlecruiser and so on should be possible too.

I mean the Earth Worm Jim for DOS, it had some additional Levels and using DOSBOX I don´t know if its possible

Yeah, the expansion is pretty good. Might be hard to find on its own now though.

I also have Deus Ex and System Shock 2, but I don't think they can be ported. I've got a bunch of Tomb Raider games too, like The Last Revelation and Lost Artefact :p Makes me wanna play through all my old PC games again.

As long as they are DOS games they should work, I think, Dos Box is pretty much 100%.

All the Tomb Raider games from PS1 will play on the Pandora. I never played them on the PC, so I don't now if they're DOS or windows.

To get Tales of the Sword Coast I'll have to find one of the box sets that has it, I see them every once in a while at Hastings or places like that.

Oh man, G-Nome, I loved that game and I know I have it somewhere, I need to find it. I think MDK will work under DOS Box, did you check the site? I'm sure the Pandora is powerful enough to play any DOS game, it just comes down to DOS Box.

Yeah Battlecruiser and Master of Orion II for very very long travels :D .
OMG now I´ll get insane waiting for the Pandora

MDK works great as long as you have above version 0.61.

I really need to try this game, I never actually played it, but hearing from people that have it's one of their favorite games.

Edit: Silly me, the 0.61 refers to the version of DOSBox you're using.

Captain Comic! My intro to computer gaming back in the day. :D

I don't have any CDs but I already have the following games:

Commander Keen 1 & 4
Duke Nukem 1 & 2
Crystal Caves
Jill of the Jungle
Jazz Jackrabbit
Monuments of Mars

all running from automenu :)

Woah there, you might be raising peoples expectations a little too far. The most recent DOSBox videos from Pickle are here: http://pandorapress.net/2009/08/10/dosbox-dosbox-dosbox/

Related thread: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/49010-anyone-for-dosbox

The meatier games on display there are Blake Stone and Dark Forces (the latter without sound). Check out the release dates and system requirements of those games:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blake_Stone:_Aliens_of_Gold
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Forces

Compare them to some of the other games being mentioned in this thread:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Shock_2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDK_(video_game)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_Ex

There may still be room for DOSBox improvement, but late 90s games are pretty much off the table.

Lol it says MDK runs only under WIN 95, but I am pretty shure I played it in DOS back at the time.
But you could be right, theire is a huge difference between Dark Forcers and MDK in case of complex Graphics.
I am still hoping for Battle Cruiser to run.
