I wanna change my firmware already, viva open2x
danboid said:feh - http://linuxbrit.co.uk/feh/ - Very fast image viewer that works well as a rox helper app
osb-browser - http://gtk-webcore.sourceforge.net/ - Forget about Firefox in 32MB, this is our best bet for a browser
I think that some better programs would be:
Dillo - http://www.dillo.org/ - A fast, small web browser in 970KB. Renders well and supports SSL (beta).
FBI - http://linux.bytesex.org/fbida/ - It's not an X app (uses libdirectFB) but it works very well as a lightweight image viewer with antialiasing and zooming.
I think your confusing the NAND with RAM?ZeroPain said:QUOTE

I know the GP2X really has 64MB of RAM, but the last I heard only 32MB was currently available to the kernel. I hope I'm wrong on that one because if we can access all 64MB we could run apps like amule, abiword and gnumeric or a very slow firefox on the GP2X. I know coz I've seen all this on my zaurus which has a faster CPU and better screen but pretty similar devices otherwise.

I'd give my vote for Open2X taking ALL of the NAND for the OS leaving no userspace NAND. We all use memory cards anyway, there isnt really much you can put on the NAND short of a few skins, but that could be changed to load from memory card anyway, depending on the setup of the new frontend to Open2X etc...Orkie said:NAND partitioning doesn't work like a hard drive, there is no partition table. The partitions are hardcoded into everything that needs to know about them (like the kernel and bootloader).

If this happens I won't use it, of course. I need NAND.

Talk about digging a thread out of the depths . Any reason to bump up this old thread?Megatog615 said:*BUMP*
How about modifying gpu940 to act as a GL driver? e.g. /usr/lib/libGL.so
This way, OpenGL games can be ported easier.
