I think Gizmo is closed source, which means that without their participation you're not getting it.chad78 said:I don't want Skype - I want Gizmo Project.
Yeah, it looks like you are right about that. I just knew I could use it on my N800. So maybe if someone does port Maemo (which *is* open source) over to the Pandora, then it could work.sindbad said:I think Gizmo is closed source, which means that without their participation you're not getting it.
PSP already has skype, but it requires the PSP Remote control, a Mic that will plug into that, and a memory card with sufficient space.Vince2501 said:Looks like the PSP is getting this, and it's also happening for the DS through a legit company as opposed to hacking it. Any chance for this to happen for the Pandora? And would we be able to receive calls?

This would presume that you're going to have the Maemo versions work in lock-step, which may/may not happen. Having said this, Gizmo's intrinsically GAIM with SIP bolted onto it. There's other answers and you can even make them all work nicely with the Gizmo Project server farm (Since it started out as SIPPhone anyhow...)
For example:
minisip
linphone
SipCommunicator (Note: Java req'd...)
Are all open source SIP apps that will work directly with things over at the Gizmo Project in an open manner- and there's more than just that available...
