GPH Video Player cannot play any of my avi files (all are xvid)!!! So, I installed MP2X and it plays well on LCD, but the TV output is not that good. So, is there an alternative player with better TV output?

PS: why GPH is doing this to us :(

Alex, re-encoding will take ages on my slow laptop :(

GPH, you said xvid, mpg4, & wmv are supported

xvid/divx/mpg4 are supported, so long as they are packaged in AVI or OGM. If you have a AVI or OGM file that won't play, it's either an odd version of divx/xvid (all that I have tried have worked) or it isn't divx/xvid, or the sound isn't a compatible format.

I have played plenty of xvid avi's on my GP2X. The only ones that dont work are ones the I have from 5 years ago. Probably encoded with a much older version that is no longer supported.

yup, I've used to convert videos for my PDAs on my Pentium 166MHz 192Mb of RAM...funniest thing was that my PDAs (HP Jornada 820 and Siemens Simpad SL4) had both faster CPUs xD

I think incompatible sound formats trip up a lot of people. They think the video is incompatible with the GP2X, but it's really the non MP3 sound.
