speed in gb/gbc is not that perfect but good compability.
gba games sure run like shit so better put gbc games on your cart than gba games.
i wonder why gp32x isnt telling yet

hu... i ran yeti3d it was slow... :D but good !!!
this is a great emu!!!!
thanks chui!!!

hope he will insert a 150 overclock version ...
or can someone compile a new version for me, since the code ist out?
and perhaps it would be also a bit faster if the screens wont be stretched...

bye

PS: mario kart is great... ar not really but it works.. how is gba running at 166?

Lol, y would u want to run yeti3D when we have the gp32 port? But about the emu, i hope it kept as a wip. Gpvgb is good but no state saves and graphic glitches, fgb is either 2 slow or too fast. this could be the one im waitin 4

the gba emu is a VERY NICE ...umm.... dia show :D

some days/months ago he said he wouldnt work too much on the gba emu, he wnats the gb/gbc emu working perfectly

well nice but we have fGB already <_<

Someone with a GP32 with 32 megs and 166 oc'd should try this emu. I would suggest metroid fusion, its the fastest game i know. I can play it on VBA on a 200mhz (nonMMX) pentium with 16mb of ram.

This is excellent! Just tried Chu Chu Rocket and it works, albeit slowly but Chu Chu doesn't exactly need fast reflexes, and even though gp32x news says theres is no sound, there is. You just have to turn it on!

i dont see why with some optimisation the gba side wouldn't be semi playable especially for those who can over clock i mean i cant but im' not to bothered would be nice to no that some people couldn't potentially play the simpler of gba games

I can't get anything to run on it! Everything that I try ends up rebooting my GP32! I tried both GBA roms and PD roms. I can only run gb/gbc roms. Any advice? Also, how do I exit back to the meun when in a rom?

The source is aviable so some optimization could be done :p
I'll look for some quick tweaks but don't expect to much ;)

exit to menu: hold L+R shoulder buttons and tap Start.

so far I have tried Hachimon + advance Wars 1, both work (but too slow)
so I will say again, "cool tech demo" and I hope the author doesn't get flamed + nagged to shreds for releasing this

I tried:
Mario Kart Advance = works, some gfx bugs, sloooooooow :(
V-Rally 3 = Works perfekt, just slow :D
Super Mario Advance 2 = works fine... just slow
Pitfall = works fine just slow
Yeti3D gba = hrhr.... slooooooow
Breath of Fire 2 = only game that restarts my gp32 after the intro... but i tried it only once, so dont know if this is everytime so...

in the end... a good emu but to slow... some improvemt ideas from me:
make a 150 mode :D
make a version which dont stretch the screen
ASM .... :D
bye

What are you guys talking about, this emulator isn't supposed to be a gba emulator. Why are you judging it as a gba emulator, you should be judging it as a gb\gbc emulator.

come on man, of COURSE it's going to be judged as a GBA emulator.

ever since GP32 appeared people have been asking left and right "can it play GBA"
up until now all we had was (the recent emulator) shiteGBA and that wouldn't even play commercial roms anyway.

besides, from what I hear fGB32 is superior in it's GB/C emulation than this VBA port (that's not to say it's development isn't encouraged!)

so of course it's cool to talk about this thing playing GBA, so long as it doesn't get out of hand. I am just impressed to see it running, is all (regardless of it's lack of useability) There's no way I expect GP32 to be a substitute for an actual GBA, and I think most folks here agree by now.

Nice !! I havent begun to try any gb/gbc roms yet, but seeing commercial gba games running on a gp32 is a great step. However, I am expreienceing crashes on my machine- It seems games will load for about 1 minute and the gp32 resets itself. I hope this has nothing to do with having the european fw installed

Most GB© Games run fine (even 'the fish files'!) so i think we can say GB© emulation is perfect!
But GBA emulation might be possible with some more work
Dind't Craigix said that the new verison of the GCC compiler is a few % faster than ArM?
Someone might try to compile it with the new version and clock it to 150 MHZ
