how can I cut off the end of some films or star the new movie a little ways into the old one to avaod credits and save space?

In VDub, go to the start of the section you want to cut out and press the "Home" key. Go to the end of the section to cut out and press "End" then "Delete" and the section gets deleted. Then just Save As AVI and you should have a shorter film :)

Hope that helps!

Matt

Well, if the main star of the film gets VD and it's a porn it might just never get finished...

Sorry, couldn't resist :p

Rather than cut the film you could try and save space by reducing the quality for the opening and closing credits. The codec FFDSHOW (available from www.sourceforge.net) allows you to specify frames for reduced quality.
This codec has so many possibilities, however an initial test using the DIVX3 encoder and FourCC code DIV3 has shown that it will work with GPCinema2.
