Hello All,

I'm not a big poster in this forum as of late, but I would still like feedback. This site will be live shortly. I will not stock any Pandora specific parts until after Batch 1 is complete. I appreciate all responses.

I replied :
- Generic Class 32GB Class VI & Class X SDHC Cards (but at a good price)
- maybe to the next question 'cause I dont need an other one ;) but a north american distributor seems a good idea
- maybe to the last : when a money transfert service is free there is always a trick.

EDITED useless stuff ;)

I honestly wouldn't bother with selling SD cards. You can get them much cheaper from places like Newegg etc.

Xipwire? No, signing up and registering at yet another pay site would be annoying.

I would just stick with items that you can't get other places. Spare parts like nubs and LCD cables would be a good thing to have.

Sebt3,

Good look. I don't know this devil weed you speak of.

@ DaveC,

I know NewEgg sells stuff cheap, but my goal is to combine everything needed for a one stop Pandora shoppe. I've got a lot of interest in the other forum for them too.

The site it up. You should all notice a change if you've ever looked at my Avatar before.

I would not bother at all, as cheaper and free shipping alternatives exist, such as Dealextreme, Monoprice, etc. They are not "US Based," but it's irrelevant when they offer you to ship items for free (you can also pay for faster shipping too).

I already posted on the other forum, so I won't vote again, but one thing that you should definitely be stocking if this goes ahead are USB 2.0 hubs, for the simple reason that there are a lot of posters who have said they have bought them over the 'net only to find that they are actually USB 1.1 and thus practically useless.

vadsamoht has a good point, though I think it will be awhile until I see the need for a hub. As soon as there is something cool that catches my interest I will start looking for one.

I'm unlikely to buy memory sticks, I trust Newegg and Amazon.com to get me good prices on brands I've come to trust so am unlikely to venture further. Besides, it's difficult to compete with them for prices/warranty anyways.

To support members of the community, and it could be more convenient then to search for what few are offered at my usual suspect websites (Amazon, mostly) things like Micro fiber cleaning clothes would be nice. Replacement stylii might be worthwhile as well, but along with parts that's a long term thing rather than an immediate interest since I've been good about not losing/breaking things for some time.

Finally, while I didn't tick the box I might be interested in a custom paint job. It's unlikely, since I'm generally quite content with a simple muted tone, but if you get some decent talent I can't say I wouldn't at least take a look at samples/mock-ups.

First, I didn't advertise any shipping prices. DealExtreme and the like do not sell Grado headphones, Westone IEMs, or Open Pandora's, nor do they stock Pelican products. What are you trying to say?

All I am saying is that I want to be a one stop shop for the Pandora for US based customers who might not want to deal overseas. There may be people overseas who want all of these products shipped to them from one central location versus two or three. Unlike DealExtreme and the rest, my FREE shipping isn't going to be free, but it will be fast and not taxed. I plan on selling quality products at the best prices possible shipped quickly and cheap.

Thank you for the input, but I think you are missing the point of my shoppe versus Hong Kong.

I like this idea, I'd also buy Pandora parts if you were able to get some (at least TV-out cables/connectors, maybe other stuff if I needed it).

I also second the idea of selling tested accessories - I lost a bunch of stuff buying from Pleng's store, and it would be nice to have a US shop to get things like tested USB hubs.

I already own some Grado headphones, but I'd highly recommend them to other people! I use Etymotic ER-4S IEMs, but I might be interested in some Westones at some point (if I find a bit more cash under the couch cushions).

I'm doing some work on the site in Drupal. Day one's efforts are alive, there are some polls on the site for anyone interested in the Pelican cases.

Thanks again for the feedback!

So the site is up, figured I'd gravedig a little rather than start a new topic.

No Pandoras in stock yet. Plenty of cases if anyone wants to take a gander.

Thanks!

You could stock usb devices that are verified to work like http://www.panda-usb.com/ does.
Also, ext connectors are a must.

What will those parts do? Are they just the EXT connector, or is that the rest of the cable?

That's the part that connects to the pandora for video out. Anyone who wants one would be buying it to wire their own video out cables. Plenty of us want one. There was talk of a couple of people buying them and reselling them but it never happened, there was also talk of mweston or craig selling some of the ones they had but that also never happened.

It is somewhat of a risk of course. You could buy them and end up not selling a single one if the actual video out cables started shipping. I hear that will be in 2 months :p

I'm collecting a fund for it right now
Once there's enough people interested, I'll place the order and let people know. If the minimum order was 500, there'd already be enough interest to buy them. Need to double the interest now in order to complete the order, so if anyone is interested, please jump in.
Also, it has nothing to do with alternative TV out cables. The EXT port has a lot of additional pins on it beyond the TV out that will make for excellent hacking.

I see, well for me it would probably just be for tv out, what do you plan to do with yours? How much will you charge for one?

[edit] oh sorry, I see it in your link. 10 for 3 is fair. I'm in :D

Wow, can't believe this is still on the front page here. Things seem a bit stagnant.

To spark up some discussion, my site is live and ready to ship what's listed at:

http://www.ithic.com

Pelican cases to protect your Pandora from the elements, Voltaic solar charging solutions, UnderWater Kinetics Pandora Lunchboxes (batteries, headphones, charging cables). Hoping to add Westone earbud headphones as well! If you are interested in a set of Westone let me know what model you are considering because I need to order 10 units for my first order, and be sure to check the poll on the web page saying you'd buy a set. I submitted my application to them a few weeks back. The prices on Westone vary from high end prices to audiophile absurdity, but these are the best IEM (earbud) headphones that I've used. These earbuds are complimented by the Pandoras sound chip set (Brown Burr DAC and MWeston's mastermind overall design).

Thanks for looking!

looking good.
I noticed you have the pandora at 520 now. Are you planning on buying premium units for 500 and selling them for 520? Just curious. Have you got anywhere with getting official parts from craig or ed? It would be great if you had batteries and styluses.

Grabbed a couple of usb cables to help get you going. I almost pulled the trigger on a pelican case (they look nice) but I'm literally sending my pandora back today for repairs. When I get it back I'll take another look at those cases. :)

Good look man, thanks! Your cables are in my hand, now I'm trying to find an envelope. Also refunded you some shipping.

Hope you get your Pandora back quickly better than when you got it.

Regarding the Pandora price, yeah, I had to increase it a little for the time being. Once I get more of what I preordered from Craig, I will lower the price back down to $500. As soon as batch 1 is completed and shipped I will be ordering parts from Craig to sell, he didn't want to sell anything off until Batch 1 was fulfilled. That should be around the same time that I'm getting my grand opening batch of Pandoras. There are two on the way, but I won't list them until they've been inspected.

Off to the post office.

Thanks again!
