You'll like this one too. It's a link to a full book on game graphics that used to be on sale and is now available to download with full permission of the author. I haven't read it all myself yet so don't go overtaking my skills ok!
I actually bought that book a while ago, and I was pretty dissapointed in it. I already new how to draw decent sprites (I'd been doing game dev for a few years before) but I was hoping this book might have some good professional tips. Unfortunatly I was wrong.. all he seems to be able to create is 90's Dos style graphics with nasty "pillow-shading" :/ I know people who are 16 and can do graphics ten times better than he can. I guess its not so bad that its completely free now, but when I forked out 30 odd quid for it, it was kinda a kick in the balls
lol, i had a quick look - its alrite if you want to do 80's throwback graphics, but like you said - hes not a great artist so its strange he got a book published.
now, if the Square-Enix artists released a book - that'd be well worth the money
