touch and hold delay

Very often I find that when I tap one icon to launch an app, gingerbread thinks I want to edit it.

I suscpect the reason is that my tapping is detected as a touch and hold. But it must be set to a very short time, because sometimes it happens several times in a row.

My touch screen seem to ignore touches that are to quick, so I find in this case the difference between a tap and a touch and hold is very small.

I tried googling this issue, and it looks like the ability to adjust the touch and hold delay was introduced with ICS (android 4.0). And would then be available under the settings/accessability. I tried to search for a third party app that can do this, but have not found it yet.

Have anyone come across this as a problem, and perhaps a cure for it?
