The What Music Are You Listening To Thread

I seem to hear the exact opposite. ^^

Different music you mean?

The first two of those are decent as it goes, especially the first one, quite magical sounding.

Reminded me a little of this classic dnb flute tune - even though I know that isn't a flute - but don't know what it is either :)

No, opposite as in

traditional, handmade by real musicians that practised for many years on real instruments or sung.

Less traditional but very skilled and a nice guy too:

my girlfriend passed the bastille virus on to me. cant neither help nor stand it.

i can literally feel it reproducing itself in every single cell of my body.

"how am i a gonna be an optimist about this?!"

ahhhhhhhhhhh!
someone please cure me with a shot of bieber!

I do not know exactly what you mean with bastille virus, but only one of my videos was french.

Estampie are Germans playing medieval music from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, etc..

Naragonia are Belgians playing their (admittedly strong french influenced, but Belgium is not far away, right?) folk on instruments from different european countrys

and Max Zbiral-Teller (http://www.maxzt.com) is a New Yorker playing his own stuff afaik.

Edit: Postet the wrong video of Grégory, because I could not test it with Pandora, here the right one:

Oh, a cappella, nice.

Although he could have a better/louder singing technique they seem to do something from the heart.

Strange to see a band from London naming themself after something so extremely French,

I always thought the English people hate the French and vice versa. ^^

I've seen these guys a couple of times out, at open mic events where they used to have spot. Speakers Corner Quartet. They have skills and play live instruments. First time I heard them playing some hip hop beats on cello and the likes I was very impressed.

I hadn't heard anything like it really, not live, aside from The Roots once at V Festival, who had a live band going on, and one NYE night in the mid 90's when Roni Size's Reprazent band were playing a couple hour set live ...which was also top notch

<-- Great old tune

Now I'm going to have to listen to the Reprezents/William Goodchild sets

Does sound nice with real instruments playing the sounds

BTW: Today is our National Day, which is not really celebrated here, because everyone still hates his own country because of some assholes 80 years ago.

Anyway, something German (and with pirates):

and now for something completely different:

the singer explained in an interview, that the band's name is "bastille" (with pronounced doubel l) and how ashamed he was when he learned that it's all wrong :)
