Coming to a retailer near you on September 29th, 2017 for $80. But it now includes two controllers instead of just one, but good luck finding one. LOL

Seriously though, this has a decent enough lineup, and including Star Fox 2 is pretty major, as it was never officially released, but I'm as interested in this one as I was for the NES. EU is getting it as well, so I would prefer that one, or the Super Famicom instead, as the US model design was ass.

I guess if it's hack-able again, I may look in to one, but my son hasn't touched his NES Classic since January, so I doubt I'll get him one. I actually may be selling it soon, so I can get him a Switch which I know he'll use.

Probably just emulation, probably again full of lags and graphic glitches like the NES classic.
Jea sure, its nice, but will it be good?

with earthbound and SMW, i'm tempted just so i can have a clear conscience playing those games with other means :).

I wonder if that SF 2 rom is different from the very short one that is floating around.

I'll be happy if that gets dumped.

Not interesting, at 80$ I might be, at 300$ I certainly won't be...

Was the NES classic bad in that regard? First I've heard about it if so. I've a vague hope that Nintendo's quality control would at least mean the ones it originally shipped with (ignoring other roms hacked onto it) would work well, but maybe I'm being overoptimistic. I did see some videos comparing their VC NES releases and the NES mini and the mini had much better colours and general clarity than the VC editions.

Edit: All I can find on youtube is one kirby crash, and everything else is glitches that also appear on a real NES.

From what I've heard, the NES emulation on the NES classic was fine...

In my home now, without the need to transfer any funds, I have an original SNES that I can play whenever I want. NES and others, too. A huge benefit of a real SNES is my ability to use the Super Game Boy. Lemme see one of the people buying the above mentioned product using their Game Boy Camera on it and I might consider it at around the $20 mark.

Mybe it isnt that original as my Gameboy Collor (whit its Cardridges and driven by 2 AA Batteries), and lots of the Games are allready playable on Gameboy Advance, but it will be cool to have on my TV Rig where alleready sits the Mini NES, the Switch and the PS2..
Bought my Mini NES for 69 €, so i hope i also get the Mini SNES for the Price its anounce for..

Nintendo announced that there will be more snes than the nes mini...
I bet they order 20 additional snes...

Surely locked down, limited, over-prized and under-produced garbage like the NES version.
There is no good reason to not make/get a rPi setup instead and maybe add a Retrode.
For me the licences make it a little tempting > getting those games on real cartridges nowadays would probably cost around 10 times as much.

I'd rather legally buy the roms without the clutter but I guess you can't even export those used in this system.
Too bad N isn't interested in selling any game DRM-free, not even decades old ones.

I never noticed any issues, and the game really looked amazing in HD. I thought the NES Mini was over priced for what it was, but once able to add and take things away, it really was a nice device. Sadly, "N" has no clue in regards to most things, so many consumers who wanted it, missed out.

Yeah, that was the other big news part to this story yesterday, was that "N" while only planning these through the end of 2017, but that they would supply more the the NES Mini. All I could do was laugh, as that could be any number from 1-millions? I mean, on top of the NS, and the 3DS which has a great line-up of games at this point, you would think they want to have ample inventory this holiday for every device they produce. I mean, just based on the release schedule for most of this stuff, they seem to be starting earlier than the normal holiday rush time, so maybe that means a better foresight in regards to inventory.

But based on history, we all know that is often just not the case, sadly.

Given the games on this thing, I might be tempted, but lately I've been really disappointed by N. The nes mini debacle that sells for 300$ and that they stopped producing despite the evident demand... The switch that are still rarely in stock, with the evident result that the prices didn't change for a cent since it is out... I have really low hope for the snes classic.

My favorite system of all time is probably the Super Famicom, as it was the first video game system I ever imported, and I played the hell out of that thing for years. I may get the Japanese version at some point, as their box and everything is just perfect, so it would be a cool collectible, but my chances of ever using this thing, especially after getting a Pyra, will be about slim & none, and slim has just left the building;)

Well i have not given it an extensive test, coincidently i tried only Kirby. The input lag was very prominent and the screen borders where flickering.
The whole game felt kinda weird to play. Not saying its unplayable, but not the quality i am used to.

We had this discussion on IRC recently:
<EvilDragon> Elw3, Yes, the NES Mini has an input lag.
<zmatt> Elw3: I've also read that the emulation software doesn't do a particularly good job at emulating the original hw
So its not only me saying that.
