The Gp2x Joystick Problems

I've not heard of any problems with the joystick to date has anyone else?

Surely someone would have mentioned it by now if there was and there would have been some brief discussion on it...... :D

SEARCH THE FORUM BEFORE YOU POST. EVERYONE ON THE PLANET KLNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@sausage dog:

Spelling becomes a major factor when you yell on a forum. Learn to spell, use google. Also, some advice: Yelling on a forum is alot like hell, your going to get flamed.

That's quite an over-reaction. I think (naw)mcx was actually suggesting that the joystick has been improved. That would certainly be interesting if it has changed somehow, but I'll be surprised if it has.

You two should actually try reading the post. To me it reads that he has no problems and wonders if the latest devices have been fixed. ;)
Admittedly a 'very good, improved deadzone' is a little ambiguous
That is interesting, what firmware version is on it.

sausage_dog, before yelling you should try to use your brain a little ...
(naw)mcx this would be very suprising that you have a different hardware ? What are you calling "deadzone" exactly, is it the "travel time" ? Maybe simply you're not as picky as some other people here ;)

when i first got my 2X i thought the stick was fine, until i started playing games seriously and i realised it was fucked up, he probably just hasnt played with it much yet to realise

Ok I just got a gp2x a day ago from gp2x.co.uk and for some reason there is a very good dead zone and no control problems.  Is this just for me or is any 1 else got this improved deadzone or is it just me

What about the scanlines ? Are they still there ?

* I know it is considered a FW problem: just checking with a latest batch owner *

It's probably just like everyone else's... they just like to make it seem like it's more of a problem than it actually is.
For most games, it's just fine. The only type that I can say it seriously gives me trouble with is fighting games. I can rarely pull off combos since I tend to accidentally hit diagolans when trying to hit two directions in quick succession.

Ok, point taken, it is pointless to yell on the site. However: Yes, there is a major deadzone problem (anyone tried playing micro machines); and yes, there are many frustrating moments where you get no reaction from the controller.

These topics have been discussed in great detail elsewhere on the site.

Unless they use an entirely new joystick component I cannot see this ever being completely cured, only mildly improved by alternative joystick caps.
