The Competition

Those pictures look the same like I saw the system last time.

Again we have the ugly keypad...

actually the bottom shots are later, right? the system looks much better with the new keypad thing and slightly better styling. shiny surface is going to kill it, though :(

Yeah, that XGP does look more like a concept car than something you might drive to work in :p

Why there is so much wasted space in the keyboard area, when there is enough room there to fit an actual full (small) keyboard, that's wacky.

The control buttons don't look that well designed, and the unit itself looks a bit bulky and doesn't look at all comfortable.

Still, as has been said, that's just a prototype, maybe the final version will make more sense, or maybe it will just be vapour ;)

Man...Why cant GPH and GP get along? In the future, we could of gotten a powerful handheld at a nice price with 2D and 3D capabilites and which runs Linux. If the resolve their differences they can both work as the same company...just workin on two different things, plus have more profit.

Maybe they are working together!!!

<cues dastardly conspiracy music>

Because they don't want to?

The split came from a large differance of opinion. One side wanted to build a stronger relationship with the user base that had kept their original system afloat for 3 years and the other side wanted to be the next Sony. This is a huge gulf to cross even if you dont concider both positions to be diametrically opposed.

I wish one of the two companies would totally changed their company name, because Game Park Holdings and Game Park , not only confuses n00bs, but it is virtually the same name. :)

They were supposed to change their name after the system naming contest but I guess they just didn't have any good ideas for a company either.
